Hi All! I hope everyone had a wonderful past 2 weeks. I said I would attempt at doing a trip report while I was down there, but unfortunately life was more then crazy each day. I didn't even get the computer our of the bag till our
4th day there lol. So here goes...
We left New Jersey on Wed. Sept. 23rd at 10pm. This was about an hour after we had actually decided we wanted to leave. No biggie really since this just means the kids will definitely sleep. Driving down was just myself, hubby, dd(2), and ds(1). Surprisingly our daughter did not fall asleep immediately. Around 11:30 all of a sudden I look back and notice she was getting sick. Unfortunately my daughter started having car sickness around 13 months old. We don't know what brought it on, but it stopped about 6 months ago and we thought we were ok. Guess what... we were wrong lol. Cleaned her up on the Atlantic City Expressway and off we went. She passed out pretty quick after that.
Around 5am we were somewhere in North Carolina. Got a room and I slept while the hubby took the kids to a local park and laundrymat to wash all the stuff from the night before. Left around 3pm to get on our way. We only drove when the kids slept which worked out really well.
We arrived at AKV Kidani at 6am on Friday morning.
We pulled in, got our Welcome Home from the security guard and drove to the temporary parking lot. My husband got the car in park and passed out lol. I let him sleep for an hour or so since the kids were still sleeping. I just took it all in. I watched the sun come up from over the resort which was wonderful!! I couldn't believe we were finally there!! This was the start of our 1st DVC trip I just couldn't sleep anymore.
We checked in I think at 8 something and walked around the resort because as you could guess our room wasn't ready lol. I knew we'd get there early so we parked the car around where they told us our room would be and grabbed our bathing suits. Before the pool though we drove to Mara for some breakfast because we were starving LOL. After that back to the pool. We LOVED the pool at Kidani! My daughter who is 2 1/2 LOVED the little slide into the pool and my son who just became a skilled walker couldn't get enough of the spray area! Around 12:30 or so we got our text that our room was ready and we had decided it was time to go.
We got into the room and couldn't have been more happy about it! We had a 1bdrm SV on the 3rd floor 2nd bead from the lobby. It was exactly where I had requested. The room was perfect. Our daughter didn't mind at all sleeping on the pull out. Both kids LOOOOVED watching the animals from the balcony! We enjoyed being so close to the lobby so we could refill our mug pretty often. Since we just drove for so many hours we figured it would be a low key day. After all the swimming the kids were tuckered so we did naps. After that we headed over to Downtown Disney for some walking around. Unfortunately it was drizzling a little by then, but that didn't stop us. Threw the stroller cover on the stroller we rented from Magic Strollers and we were all good to go!
On Saturday Sept. 25th we had reservations at Chef Mickey's which was a
1st for ALL of us! The kids had a wonderful time as did we! My husband musta ate like 5 plates of food. For him it was one of the best breakfast buffets we've ever eaten at. For me it was good. Everything was hot and tasty. I'm a bad person to bring to a breakfast buffet since I don't eat eggs and usually a lot of food revolves around that or some I don't eat lol. But I found plenty for me to eat and be happy. Most importantly BOTH my children ate and were happy. We really didn't know what to expect, but we loved it and will definitely do it again! Also Pluto flinging our coffee pot across the floor was an added bonus too lol. He REALLY wanted to take a picture with us
.
After Chef Mickeys we walked to Magic Kingdom. On our way I heard something shuffling in the bushes. I got nervous thinking it might be a snake lol. I looked and low and behold it was an armadillo just walking down the sidewalk. Not something you see everyday lol. Well... we entered Magic Kingdom and our daughter face when she saw the castle was priceless. We were at the start of Main Street when she saw it and she forgot she was strapped in and tried to jump out to run. We tried to get my son his 1st hair cut, but they were very busy and only had one person cutting hair at the time we went in. So we decided we'd try back another time.
After some time at Magic Kindgom we monorailed over to Epcot since our reservations for Via Napoli were coming up. Both kids LOVED the monorail. My daughter couldn't stop saying choo choo the whole time lol. We walked in and went straight to find Via Napoli since we were hungry. Our reservations were for 5:45 and we got there at 5. It was so hot we didn't care if we had to sit and wait 45 mins for our reservation time we just wanted to sit in the ac lol. Fortunately for us BOTH kids passed out in the stroller 5 mins before arriving at the restaurant. Not only were they nice enough to take us early they allowed us to wheel a DOUBLE stroller into the restaurant up to our table. The food was definitely good. I got the margherita pizza and the hubby had the veal parm. We were on the dining plan so this meal worked in our favor. Both were good and I think we'd definitely come back for that. Now the desserts... OMG they were GREAT!! My husbands was soooooo good. He got Coppa Di Brutti Ma Buoni which is vanilla gelato with ugly cookies and the best cherries I've ever had! I wish we had gotten pictures of our food, but we were so happy to have peace and quiet eating we totally didn't think of it lol. Needless to say the kids woke up 5 mins after we left the restaurant lol so we headed back to the hotel.
I think that was a lot of info for the 1st two days lol. I'll update more since both my kids just woke up from their naps
