bedtime question

When DD11 was 5, her bedtime was 8pm. I think it went up to 9pm by the end of first grade. Up until the end of this school year (5th grade) it was still 9pm, but I think I will bump her to 9:30 for 6th grade. During the summer and on weekends, it's 10:00 or 10:30.

Thanks,:) I was putting my to bed at 7, My daughter has started summer school has such a hard time getting up in the morning.

My kids go to bed at 8 until they're 8, then it's 8:30. At 10, you can stay up until 9. Dd12 still goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:00, because she loves her sleep! :thumbsup2

8 pm, although now that he's playing outside more, he's ready for bed sooner than that, and I'm thinking of shifting it to 7pm.

At that age....7:30. They graduated to 8:00 for elementary school and 9:00 for middle school. Now in High School (day starts at 7:30) they have to be in bed by 9:30 on weeknights and I try to get them in bed by 11 on at least one weekend night.

My DD5 goes to bed at 8pm on school nights. On the weekend or in the summer she stays up later.

My 4 yr. old will be 5 in August. She has been in Pre K all year. Pre K do take a one hour nap at school. And we do not get up till 7 because I take her and pick her up from school.

Right now she goes to bed between 8:30 and 9 but often fights that. Weekends it's usually 10. She does not like to go to bed before the sun goes down and if she sees the sun is up then she thinks it's time to get up.

Next year in K, they will not take naps. I am hoping to get her to bed earlier, like between 8 and 8:30.

She is just like her brother and I though...she is a night owl.
During G-ma camp in the summer she can stay up just as late as the big kids usually...sometimes midnight and after.

My daughter has a hard time going to bed if the sun is still up

My 4 and 6 year olds go to bed between 8 and 8:30. I have to wake them up by 7 for school and it seems as though they wake up refreshed and not tired. Sometimes I let them stay up until 9 on the weekends, but they often sleep later on the weekends as well.

Both of my kids go to bed between 7/7:30 (depends on how long story time takes). Lately though, they've been staying up till about 8/8:30, I assume as a result of the sun still being up. My son does nap each day, about 2 hours, but my daughter does not nap and is in full day kindergarten.

DD6 gets in bed around 8 and is allowed to read or watch TV in bed until 9. She usually reads but likes to have the TV on for sound like me. When she was four she was usually in bed lights out by 8 but even last year for preschool and all of this year for Kindergarten she has had lights out at 9. On the weekends she can stay up as late as she likes. Occasionally if we have company or are at a friends house she'll be up till midnight or so, but she is usually the first one to fall asleep by around 10:30 or 11.

She gets up between 6:30 and 7:15 for school depending on if I'm taking her or DH taking her. She is usually tired when she first wakes up but once she's dressed she perks up and is fine.

my kids (ages 7, 5, 5) all go to bed at 7pm. we've agreed that over the summer they can stay up a little later, till 8 probably. every once in a while they will stay up till 7:30.

they need their sleep. and staying up late for my kids does not mean sleeping in. they are up between 6:30 and 7 regardless of when they go to bed (and that includes sleepovers at their grandmas where they have been up till 9 or so).

Do they take naps?

Mine doesn't. She hasn't napped since she was 1 year old.

My DS just finished kindergarten and his bedtime is 8pm, but the bedtime routine (shower, brush teeth, read story, etc) starts at 7pm. He's up at 6:30am for school. Now that it's the summer, he's been staying up a bit later, but rarely past 9pm.

DGD's bedtime was 8 p.m.

She's 10 now and her bedtime is 9:30 p.m..:)

Once they were past the early baby stage, all of my kids go to bed at 8:30. Fortuntately we've never had any issues with bedtime. Even with company over or weekends they just go right up to bed.

I know some who think 8:30 is way too late for a preschooler. Many people we know put their young kids to bed between 6:30 and 7:30, but their kids also wake up by 5am. The earliest my kids ever wake up is 7:30 (usually around 8:30-9:00), so they're getting about 12 hours of sleep each night.

None of my kids take naps (my son did until he turned two). Occasionally (once every few months) one of them will decide to go to bed at 6:00 or so.

My dd5 (today) goes to bed around 8 though often doesn't fall asleep until 8:30. She is up between 7 and 7:15am. We don't need to leave to take dd9 to school until 8am so it works well. She hasn't napped since 21 months. She goes to preK but they don't take a nap at school.

well we try to get my son in bed between 830 and 9 pm. However sometimes he wont sleep until midnight.

dd is 6 and we try to get her in bed by 9 but with it staying daylight longer its a struggle.

no real bed time in the summer, basically when dh and i go to bed or shortly before.
