We're renting points, staying at BLT in a one bedroom next month.

I'm trying to work out the sleeping arrangments in my head. There's just four of us--myself, DH, and our two kids (6 and 2). The kids go to bed early so we all sleep in the same room, and the adults hang out in the living room while the kids are in bed.

The 2 year old will be in the PNP...is there going to be any room in the bedroom for it? It seems like there's not much space on either side of the bed, and our daughter will be sleeping on the balcony side, either on the floor but hopefully in the sleeper chair (we hope there's room to move it there). I'm thinking the toddler may have to have his PNP set up by the bathtub.

We're not a cosleeping family (everyone needs their space) and our kids don't transfer well, so where they fall asleep is where they stay all night.

Thoughts?

I don't think you'll be able to move the sleeper chair into the bedroom, or at least not with ease. It's pretty big and heavy.

No way can you move one of those chairs easily, nor would I encourage you to try. You risk damaging the chair, walls, or doorways. They are not intended to be moved.

Please don't try to move the sleeper chair. It is quite big and heavy. Trying to do so will likely cause damage to the unit and/or the chair, which DVC members pay to maintain. Some members already think that renters don't treat the units well because they are not paying dues to maintain them, and posts like this don't help.....

I agree ::yes:: The PNP would probably fit next to the jacuzzi. This area is open to the master bedroom. Probably would be better to use an air mattress for your ds. :disrocks:

Would like to echo what vicki_c & mousefan1972 already stated & be one more voice to say "Please don't".

An air mattress is the way to go for your 6 y.o. if you need everyone out of the living room.

.....I 4th or 5th do not move the sleeper chair....I do not think it would fit thru the door easily.

PNP...the area in the bathroom is huge, where the tub, large sink and closet is. You can easily set it up in there on the floor. Or move the chair from the room and put it in that corner.

It too bad they were not old enough to spread out with in the 1 bedroom, but believe me I understand, they grow up very fast and soon will be sleeping in the LR.:goodvibes

Way to make you feel welcome, huh?

We rented pts in at blt in April and I had same issue. We have a 5 and 7 yr old and they like to be close to us when on holiday and...grownups want tonstayup later so...what to do? We normally bring kid sized air beds but we were traveling for 3 weeks and I just didn't want to carry them all over for the 4 nights at Blt. So.... I called ahead and asked them to remove the desk and deskchair and extra sitting chair from the master bedroom before we arrived. They did. I then ordered 10 extra blankets. I set them up on the floor next to the bed! One child's head at each end and wa-lah..... Perfect! The 7 yr old usually climbed in our bed at 5 am but the younger one slept like a rock till breakfast - esp after busy Disney days!

You could also fit a pnp on this side and on floor on other side too. Lots of pillows and blankets and it is an adventure!

Have fun!

Thanks for the helpful responses about the PNP. As for implying that we would tear up the place just because we're not members. We've rented before--from the same person--and there's no way we'd do something that would somehow sully his DVC membership, including damaging a room we're staying in using his points. I think of him as practically a family member, and implying that we'd do something that would damage the unit is just...well, whatever. We're professionals, not college students going off on a bender at Disney.

Anyway, thanks for the helpful responses re: the PNP. It's good to know that it will fit by the tub regardless, because there just doesn't seem to be much room on either side of the bed for it, considering we'll still have to be able to get into the bed.

I've read that the PnP can be squeezed into the laundry room as well. (haven't tried it yet though)

Just as an FYI - only the rooms on the inside of the "c" (those facing the pool area) have an actual laundry room. The rooms on the outside of the "c" have the laundry closet similar to SSR, BWV, etc.

Given you want to all be in the same room, I'd actually suggest using the LR as the sleeping area and the bedroom as the parent space at night.

The sofa bed in the LR is actually super comfortable...its not a springs and metal frame, but big pieces of firm foam. Depending on you tastes, you might find it more comfortable than the mattress. Then you could utilize the awesome master bathroom and the older child could sleep on the pull-out bed of the single chair.

Sleeper sofa, sleeper chair and PnP in LR, it could work well. It would be a shame to waste that lovely king sized bed though.

Another thought is that you can only access the balcony through the br.

Do you want to hang out in the living rm while the kids sleep in order to access the kitchen and bigger tv? I would have the kids sleep in the living rm and just bring whatever you need into the bedrm with you. You can keep the bedrm door open during the night, and bring the baby monitor (if you still use one) into your bedrm. As others have said, BLT rooms are small and it would be tight putting a pnp in the bedrm. And the sleeper chairs are too big and heavy to move and fit in the bedrm. We were able to fit the sleeer chairs from OKW and VB into the bedrms because those rms are quite large.

Let me echo many of the other posters. Please do not move the furniture into other rooms. That is why the villas and the furniture look so beat up. Leave them in the location they were placed. Its your dues and my dues that pay to have them fixed, the walls repainted, the door jambs repaired and the carpet fixed when it gets torn up from moving this stuff.

It really doesn't matter if you think you can do it without causing damage because the room is larger, the chair is closer to the bedroom, you'll be real careful, etc. The furniture isn't really meant to be moved to different locations.

And if you want a different sleeping location for your children or another guest, it's up to you to provide that sleeping place. Whether an air bed or a sleeping bag or ten blankets. Not DVC.

Yes.

We stayed in a 1bdr and the pack n play fit quite easily in the bedroom. We set it just inside the room under the coat rack. Left it set up the whole trip. The rest of the room was completely accessible.

We just stayed there last week. There is no way you're going to be able to move the chair. Just take an air mattress and put it next to the bed- there is enough room for a twin size mattress on the side close to the sliding doors and room for the pnp next to the tub.
