My DD is 9 and still has trouble staying dry at night (So did I, her Dad and her Brother) her Dr. says we cursed her

Dr. recommended a bed wetting alarm and said a used one on Ebay was the way to go since they are in the $95-140 range.

Anyone have any experience with brands? New/Used? etc....

Thank you

Never used one. My son wet the bed until he was 10.

Our Dr. said most out grow it by the time they are 12. We just kept him in Huggy's Goodnights until then. Mind you I was noticing his goodnight was warm in the morning meaning he was peeing in the morning. He got used to them. so we retraining him all over again for about week to get up in the morning and go. A few wet beds and he didn't like that got him to stop.

We even got him up in the night thinking that would help but it didn't make any difference. Now he gets up in the middle of the night on his own.

Sorry I guess I didn't really answer your question.

My DH was a big bedwetter as a kid. They tried everything...including the bed wetting alarm. Unfortunately, the only thing it accomplished is waking up everyone in the house...except him:lmao: Luckily, he grew out of it around 11 or 12ish.

DS15 was a bedwetter and a sound sleeper--the alarms didn't work for him at all. We had to medicate.

Our dd was 5 and still wetting the bed. We used the alarm and within a month she was done. I highly recommend it.

Worked like a charm for ds and dd (it's genetic). Ds10 still does it about once a month, when he's really tired, but dd7 hasn't wet the bed after using it for 2 weeks years ago.

We got it from here - wasn't covered by insurance, but it was covered by our flexible spending plan: http://bedwettingstore.com/

Probably depends some on the source of the problem. Used it for my DD 7 and it worked the first time. It went off once, was so loud and unpleasant, that suddenly she could make it to the bathroom after that. She wore it for a couple more weeks but it never went off again. In her case, she was waking up but just going in her pull-ups while still half-asleep because she didn't want to get up. So it cures stubbornness pretty fast. But if you have more of what I might call a "real" medical condition, not just being too warm and cozy and not wanting to get up, presumably it would take more time to train the child to wake up when that feeling comes on.
