how big are the extra beds in the rooms (the sofa, the upper bunks)?...
are they big enough for my 6'4" son?
(or will he have to share the regular bed with my 6' 7" husband?)

My guess is that he'll be sharing with your husband. My kids slept in the bunks-son was about 5'7" at the time and he fit fine. Much taller and he'd be hanging over the edge. Good luck and happy sailing.

thanks Disneyvacationmom...
hmmm......do the upper bunks have guard rails?....god...i haven't been in something like that for centuries....

The upper bunk does indeed have a guard rail. The bed length is about 3 or 4 inches shorter than the king bed in the room. We did a rough measurement with a book when the kid we took with us told us he thought the bunk bed was shorter than his at home. He was right, it's a few inches shorter. I don't remember if the width was a bit smaller. I believe it was about half the size of the king bed in width which is correct. It may have been 1 or 2 inches smaller in width (definitely, no more than that).

thanks Tina...
it definitely sounds like it's my daughter or me destined for the top bunk.....and since she's much taller than i am (5"10"), i guess it will be me (5"4").....
hmmmm......maybe i should rob a bank and reserve the two bedroom????.....
oh well......i plan on taking part in all the activities so that should leave little time for climbing up and down the bed...
anyway, i always was jealous of the kids with bunkbeds when i was little....so this'll be my chance....

Nobody mentioned how big the sofa bed is, so your son may still be able to fit there. It sure looked to me like when folded it it is definately wider than a twin sized bed so he might be comfortable on it.

There is an option between getting a two bedroom suite and all staying in one room, of course... You can get two connecting rooms. The big bed can also be made up into two separate beds so that your son and daughter could each have their own bed and you can sleep with your husband. I wouldn't consider it much of a vacation if I had to sleep apart from my husband!

Lisa F,
well we'll be at WDW for 3 weeks (the cruise falling towards the beginning).....sleeping apart isn't ideal, but we've done it before (when we had one room with two double beds....i couldn't very well make my two teens, one boy/one girl, share a bed together...so we had dad and son in one bed and mom and daughter in the other.....but we try not to get into those situations....either taking two rooms or a suite...)
the truth is, my son might want to sleep in the upper bunk even if it means folding himself in half to do it)...

We didn't have the stateroom host make up the sofa into a bed, so I don't know anything about the size of that. I wonder if the measurements aren't in the official Disney brochure. Somebody must know this answer? I just assumed they were regular twin beds, but I was proven wrong by the neighbor kid we took along. It may be a 3 or 4 inches shorter than a regular bed (we didn't have a tape measure, but used the edge of a book to get a measurement against the king bed in the room), but it's still fun to be up there (if you fit).

Disneyholic: The big bed can be made into 2 singles for your husband and son, if you wish. Then everyone would have an individual bed long enough for them. Hope this helps.

Do all of the rooms have a pull down bed? We're in a Cat 8 on deck 6. A pull down bed for DD4 would be a big plus!

The sofa bed was no bigger than a twin - actually I fit into it from head to toe - almost touching at both ends, and I'm 5'9". The pull down bed was approx the same size.

So, what size is the main bed...cat 9 for instance?
Is it full, queen, king??? and it is long??? hubby is a foot
taller than me @6'1" and hates it if his feet hang over :(
Thanx!

My hubby is 6'2 and all leg and had no problem with the bed being too short.

Lisa

The main bed is the size of 2 beds pushed together. I read it is actually somewhere between a king and a queen. Not big enough to call it a king, but larger than a queen at home. We requested one room to be made as the "queen" and the other cabin to be made as the singles for the children.
