Bed Sheets and Bringing Your Own??

I have actually heard of many owners who bring their own sheets, so it's not unusual. I own at a Marriott, and one trip we stayed 15 nights in Orlando I bought cheap pillows and just left them when we left (I didn't care for theirs, and knew they were new then). Many that drive down find this easy as well.

I know lots of places use flat sheets - some of the Marriott timeshares now use fitted, but they never seem to stay on the bed well! Either way, the beds are standard sizes, so if it's a queen bed it should work just fine!

I personally have laundered the sheets at timeshare stays before once or twice - one time for sure when DS was going to sleep on the sofa sleeper - I pulled out the sheets for it and they didn't look or smell fresh at ALL (and he's got allergies) so I washed them before making up the sofa sleeper for him! At our Hawaii resort I've washed the sheets a time or two - yes I know they'll bring me fresh ones but sometimes I like the smell of Tide! We always wash our towels too.

I think that's one nice thing about the timeshare - making it feel a bit like home. I agree with the PP - if you want to bring a colored sheet instead of white it will make it easier to see that it's yours.

Your own fitted sheets SHOULD fit unless they are really, really old (greater than 10 years old). Mattresses have gotten a bit thicker - and some older fitted sheets aren't as "deep" and can be tough to get on a new mattress.

Drives me nuts that they use a flat sheet on the bottom - always seems to get untucked. But, sigh, it is the norm for hotels.

Sorry if this was already mentioned, but one way to prevent the housekeeper from accidentally changing your sheets would be to bring sheets that are a pattern or bold color. To my knowledge, all WDW sheets are plain white.

We bought sheets in Orlando. (T-shirt material is a personal preference.) We got them on sale so they're bright gold--not my favorite color but goes well with most of the DVC interiors. We store the sheets in our Owner's Locker. Never had an issue with housekeeping taking them.

Soooo much better than hotel sheets.
