I have actually heard of many owners who bring their own sheets, so it's not unusual. I own at a Marriott, and one trip we stayed 15 nights in Orlando I bought cheap pillows and just left them when we left (I didn't care for theirs, and knew they were new then). Many that drive down find this easy as well.
I know lots of places use flat sheets - some of the Marriott timeshares now use fitted, but they never seem to stay on the bed well! Either way, the beds are standard sizes, so if it's a queen bed it should work just fine!
I personally have laundered the sheets at timeshare stays before once or twice - one time for sure when DS was going to sleep on the sofa sleeper - I pulled out the sheets for it and they didn't look or smell fresh at ALL (and he's got allergies) so I washed them before making up the sofa sleeper for him! At our Hawaii resort I've washed the sheets a time or two - yes I know they'll bring me fresh ones but sometimes I like the smell of Tide! We always wash our towels too.
I think that's one nice thing about the timeshare - making it feel a bit like home. I agree with the PP - if you want to bring a colored sheet instead of white it will make it easier to see that it's yours.
