I just became a CL today and I applied a few weeks ago. I can't remember exactly when, but it has been awhile.

what are the pros and cons of being a community leader?
what is involved? duities and what not?

i have not really understaood what they do thats more than anyone else. i don;t know if i want to be one or not simply because i don't know what they do...

Pros: U get to have a cool pin and people respect u. More boys or girls ask if u are taken and more friends requests show up.VMK staff might exept your friend request.

Cons: Those friend requests get really anoying.People come to u like a magnet.

Duites:U get to Patrol the kindom and report something wrong like lmao that is just wrong.

Sorry, but this reply is mostly wrong, and (I believe) also exactly what they are NOT looking for in a CL.

There are no additional powers. There are reports that there may be additional "privileges" in the future. They are NOT there to act as police.

Rather, CL's are there to help answer any questions that players might have, so, they should have a pretty good familiarity with the details of the game. Being CL could also mean trying to act as a role model for others in the game.

OK, that last response post was so far off the mark, that I found I needed to hunt down all relevant info from the VMK web page regarding community leaders. From various pages, here's everything, all collected together in one place:

What are Community Leaders?
They are Players who volunteer to help others find their way around VMK. They answer questions, give directions and just be all-around good guys (and gals). They won’t tell you where that last Hidden Mickey is, but they might point you in the right direction. Community Leader names begin with CL_ and they all wear the CL badge:

How can I become a Community Leader?
Community Leaders are experienced and enthusiastic Players, who help out. They have a special badge in their profile, and sometimes have extra rights in the game. If you've been playing VMK for a while and you have a clean record (no bans!), maybe you could become our next Community Leader. Read up on the VMK Values first, then apply!

Community Leaders are Players who know a lot about the game, have a clean VMK record, and want to help other Players understand what to do and how to enjoy the game as much as they can.

What Is the Difference Between VMK Staff and Community Leaders?
VMK Staff are paid staff and are responsible for safeguarding our Players. Community Leaders are experienced and enthusiastic Players who help out. In my short experience as a community leader, it saves a lot of typing asking if anybody needs help. Now other players tend to ask you for help. Other than that there isn't much diifference at the present compared to what I did before.
