~Trip Report~
9/21~ The night we left Portland... Page 4, #46
9/22~ We arrive, Dinner at Grand Floridian 1900 Park Fare, I attend part of the Pop Glow Party & meet some Dis'ers

Hi everyone~

This is going to be my first attempt at starting a trip report. I really don't know where to start, but I thought this would be a fun way to write about our planning & first trip to WDW with our son Hunter.

The Cast:
Me~My name is Becky. I'm 26 & love Disney. I've been taking annual trips to Disneyland with my parents since I was 4 months old. We started going to WDW in 2004 & I fell in love with Florida.

DH Will~ Will is my great husband. He's 31 & used to hate that I was so Disney obsessed. He now loves the trips & is really excited about the trip this year because it will be Hunter's first time.

DS Hunter~ Hunter is 9 1/2 months old. He was born November 2006. He is already showing signs of being a disney fan like the rest of us. He watches Mickey Mouse clubhouse & Pooh and Friends on Disney Channel everyday.

We have been planning this trip for over a year. My family usually goes to WDW every October but we missed last year's trip because I was 9 months pregnant. So, I've been planning & waiting for this trip forever it seems like. I had originally planned on going in October but then free dining came out & I booked the trip for 9/22-10/6.

Two weeks is a pretty long time to spend at WDW but I figured that we are traveling all the way from the West Coast & this year I plan on taking our time with Hunter, so I'm kind of glad to have the extra time to spend at the resort.

We are staying at the Pop Century for the first time & I couldn't be happier. I will be attending the Pop Glow Party on 9/22 with all of the great friends I have made on this site. We are going to have a great time...we are basically invading the Pop Century pool area for the night...non-Dis people are going to have to watch out LOL.

I will post some pictures & my itinerary later this afternoon, just basically wanted to get this thing started since I have been putting it off for long enough.

**I will also warn you...I am a picture fanatic so I plan on posting TONS of pictures of our family & our vacation :)

~Becky

Sorry, some of the photos are kind of large. I need to learn how to make them a little smaller.

Here is one more post...then I'll stop, I promise :)

We live in Gustavus, Alaska (Glacier Bay National Park) in the summer time & Portland, Oregon during the rest of the year. Here are a few pictures from Alaska since I've had quite a few people ask me about it. Enjoy!

Okay, so now that I've started I just can't stop posting haha...:lmao:

Here is Part I of our Itinerary:

Day #1 9/21:

Day #2 9/22:
-Flight arrives Orlando @ 12:00pm
-Take Magical Express to Pop Century
-Check-in to hotel room
-Meet up with Mom, Dad, Aunt Paula, DB Tim
-Haven't quite decided yet but either go to waterpark or swim at pool for afternoon.
-Check in w/ Sept. Poppers @ Glow Party really quick before heading off to dinner
-8:30pm Dinner @ Grand Floridian Cafe w/ family
-9:30-10pm Head back to Glow Party

Day #3 9/23:
-Magic Kingdom...go to park 1hr. early for Little One's Early hour @ Fantasyland
-Crystal Palace at 3:55pm...the only ADR I could get. I am surprising Hunter & my Aunt Paula with a birthday cake at this meal

Day #4 9/24:
-MGM
-Dinner @ Sci-Fi 7:10pm (I think that Keli is eating here this night too...I have to recheck w/ her)

Day #5 9/25:
-Epcot
-Dinner @ Coral Reef 7:30pm

Day #6 9/26:
-Animal Kingdom
-Lunch @ Rainforest Cafe 11:30am (Not on DDP but my family really wanted to eat here so we agreed to pay out of pocket for this meal)
-Since my family is willing to babysit Hunter, I think Will & I are going to have "date night" at DTD this night. Probably just dinner & then check out the comedy show & a couple clubs at Pleasure Island.

Day #7 9/27:
-Typhoon Lagoon waterpark
-Dinner @ Chef Mickey's 7:40pm

Day #8 9/28:
-Resort/Rest Day...we will hang out at Pop, maybe go & "explore" other resorts & take pictures if we feel up to it.
-Dinner @ Tony's Town Square (kind of nervous about eating here since I've read poor reports, but it was the only one available night of MNSSHP)
-MNSSHP...will go to MK about 4-5pm and then stay until midnight.

This is just a start, but I'll post week #2 later on :)

Great so far! Hunter really is a cutie!

Alaska is pretty! Maybe we'll make it up there someday, although hunting will be on the top of Matt's list. I would insist on going during a "warmer" time. Is there anything 'in season' to hunt during that time?

Hi Farrah~You should find out where your family lives...it'll give you another reason to come up to Alaska to visit...besides coming to visit us of course :) Actually, you'd be surprised, Alaska is really small when it comes to people & it's common to know lots of people in the other communities...Anchorage & Fairbanks are really the only "big" cities.

Thank you...I think he is a cutie too, of course I'm a little biased hehe :) Actually, I was looking at your pictures on your pre-trip & your kiddos are super adorable too. I love the Pooh & Belle costumes.

You should definitely visit Alaska at some point, it is really beautiful. It depends on what time of year you visit, but deer season opens up Aug. 1 where we live, then Moose is in Sept. There is also sheep, bear, elk, and lots more. I'm sure our husbands can talk all about hunting at the glow party :)

Hey, am I on the wrong thread? This looks like the POP Glow party thread!

Y'all are so cute, and your pictures of Alaska are beautiful. I have a teacher friend who has lived all over the state--Anchorage, Gambel, and another city up north somewhere. My dh was most impressed by the boat dock--boating is his big love, other than Disney, of course.

We'll look for you at the LOEMH on 9/23. My dd has become quite adept at spotting crocs, baggallini's and lime green, so she's constantly asking me if that person might be a DIS'er. I'm hoping to finally be able to tell her "yes" on this trip!

LOL...kind of funny it is all Pop Glow Party people so far :)

Thank you for the compliments. The boat dock in the town we live in is getting torn down & replaced next summer so I've been taking lots of pics this summer.

Can't wait to see you at the LOEMH. I've got the crocs, a baggallini is on order & I'm not sure if I'll be wearing lime green since it's not really my fav. color, but I'll maybe have a LGMH with my screen name on it so you can spot me. I'm looking forward to going, I think you were one of the first to tell me about it. :)

And you were the one to invite me to the POP glow party, so thank you for that. My crocs and baggallini aren't green either, they're orange. I'm not ready for lime green every day, and am too cheap to justify special bags/shoes just for Disney. Yet. But my MIL comes to visit next week, and she loves to shop, so maybe I'll "let" her "upgrade" me, LOL. Keep the pre-trippie coming! I'd love to hear more about the rest of your family, and how a big trip like that works for you. Those of you that travel to WDW with extended families are a brave, brave bunch.

I'd let your MIL spoil you... :)

I thought after our last trip to WDW I would never travel with family again, but somehow it always works out that we end up going at the same time. This year they are only going for a week though, so at least we will have some time to ourselves.

everything look good Becky! I was just showing Dane the pics of Alaska--he said ITS BEAUTIFUL!! Is there a way to get there without flying??? LOL I cannot get on a plane.:goodvibes

I'm so jealous your staying at POP!! We couldn't get in for our dates. POP has the best little kid pool!! I would imagine Hunter isn't walking yet, but thats ok cause it has a zero depth entry with really cool water jet/sprayers. My little guy and my niece couldn't get enough of it.

Oh, you sound a lot like me being a picture fanatic..lol

I love the pics and reading your pre-trip info!

Alaska looks just beautiful!

Aww, and your little one is just so dang cute! My baby boy just turned one. Times goes by so fast.

I must say how jealous I am that you have 2 full weeks in Disney. Had dh been able to get more time off of work we would have booked longer too..hehe :)

Looking forward to more pics and travel stuff! :goodvibes

This is my first time staying at POP, so I'm super excited. From the pictures I've seen & everything I've read about it, it sounds like a great resort.

LOL, I am a picture fanatic :)

This is the first time we have ever stayed for 2 weeks. Now that I'm thinking about it, it is an awfully long time to be there, but I'm sure we'll have a great time

I agree, this past year has gone by so fast. After I first had my son I swear I was in a blur and since then time has not slowed down one bit.

Jumping over from my report to yours for a visit! WOW on those pictures of Alaska! They are beautiful. I look forward to seeing all the great pictures your take on your trip. I'm glad you posted your itinerary. That way, when I'm in the drudgery of a work day, I can think about how some fellow Disers are enjoying the day at AK or a breakfast with Lilo and Stitch or whatever, and it will surely brighten my day. We're doing 'Ohana breakfast next summer, so I'll really look forward to seeing those pictures and hearing your review. (Although it really won't make a lot of difference...even cardboard would taste good to me if I were eating it in Disney World!) I think that Glow Party may be the same thing Gmax is going to, but I'm not sure. Definitely take pictures at that so we can see all the Dis friends. September 22 will be here before you know it. You will have so much fun!!!

Count me in :thumbsup2

Great start so far :) Your little Hunter is adorable!!

Can't wait for more :goodvibes

Thank you for reading. The pictures of Alaska were taken by my DH. He's the photographer, I usually just take quick snapshots of my son & friends. I can't wait until we leave for our trip & I promise to post lots of pictures when I get back.
