Because I'm the Boss Of You That's Why! Last day, HOP ONBOARD!!! Updated 12/11

I am PSYCHED to have someone who can go at my pace for FP running :woohoo: and not dawdle 300 yards behind me or make me wait more than 5 mins tapping my foot on the ground :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: Too funny! I'm glad about that with you, too - people tell me all the time that I walk to darn fast but I CAN'T HELP IT!! It's good that we have the same pace .... ;)
-------
I know I'm loaded with questions this time but want it to FAB for my BFF

:flower3: You're the best. I want it to be awesome for you, too. I mean, I know it's Disney so it's just going to be awesome for you no matter what, but it's a whole new experience for us to do it together!!! :cheer2:

Yo, Ecogiiiiiiiirrrrrrllllll, can you stand it!!!!!!!

Boy, that’s funny – I was in the middle of typing up a message in Word, and, when I went to post, I realized that you had posted this! How ironic!!! :goodvibes

  OH, YEAH - WE’RE IN SINGLE DIGITS!!!!!!!  (although that also means I am down to single digits to finish packing up my entire apartment, which isn’t quite as much fun as planning for WDW..... )

I promised Leyla I would take a look at the AK attractions & throw out my faves to see if anyone has feedback. Here are the ones that interest me most. I have no idea if this is too much to even think about doing, but I’d rather have to whittle the list down than risk standing around with nothing to do (yah, right, like THAT would ever happen in Disney!! :rotfl: ). Okay, okay, in all seriousness.....

-The Lion King show: a must-do, especially since I know how much Leyla loves Broadway-type shows. I do, too, and I’ve been desperate to see it in NYC but haven’t had a chance. This is definitely the next best (or maybe THE best) thing!
-Kilimanjaro Safari: ABSOLUTE must-do, though the Pangani Forest Trail sounds fun, too. But I LOOOOOOOVE baby elephants and there was one born in KS in June (his name is Tsavo, and you can see his pic at Allears.net). From the suggestions on the DIS, it seems like this should maybe the first thing we do, or at least one of the first, for the best opportunity to see lots of animals.
-Maharajah Jungle Trek in Asia. I really, really want to check out JT - I’m all about seeing the animals! I read that the best time to go (if you want to see the tigers) is in the afternoon. Guess they know that’s feeding time! I’m also really interested in the bats – they’re amazing creatures and have a huge impact on our ecology.
-If we can time it right while in Asia, I’d be interested in a Flights of Wonder show – anyone seen one? I love learning about different species of birds and their habitats, so this show sounds like something I’d really enjoy.
-Nemo show: just sounds like a great time. Like Mike, I love anything to do with the sea, and I adored the movie.
-I’d like to check out Habitat Habit in Rafiki’s Planet Watch (they have cotton top tamarins!). Has anyone been through there? And, while we’re in PW, maybe a stop at Conservation Station?
-If we have time after all that, I’d be into the Wild by Design tour. Leyla & I both like “behind-the-scenes” kind of stuff (it’s the “Unwrapped” of WDW, Leyla! ;) ).
-For food, Flame Tree BBQ sounds good to me – they have a yummy salad! I’m tough with food, since I rarely negotiate on the healthy thing (even on vacation). Leyla’s on that same wavelength, though, which is so cool. :woohoo: Tamu Tamu kiosk might be an option for a quick sandwich if FTB is too crowded. I absolutely, positively want to try Royal Anandapour Tea Company (in Asia). Anyone been there? I LOVE tea and the Silver Needle White Tea sounds completely yummy. I know, I know, hot tea in August in Orlando isn’t exactly sane, but I’m willing to make the sacrifice ... ;) . Oh, and healthy or not, there’s a Safari Amber out there with my name on it! :rolleyes1

I’m on the fence about EE. I know several people have recommended it, and I'm sure it's amazing, but I’ve never been much of a roller coaster fan. It’s not so much about “growing a pair,” (though I always scream), it's just that I’m more of a “hike in the woods” girl than an “amusement park” girl. I know that EE is about the experience, not just the "ride," but in our limited time, I really want to concentrate on exploring the animals and doing shows or tours. If Leyla has her heart set on EE (and she finds a “pair” somewhere in her luggage :lmao: ), I’m game .. otherwise, I think I’ll be so thrilled with everything else that I’ll barely miss it.

Bottom line, I'm gonna love whatever we do :goodvibes

I can’t believe we’re so close ... ... ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :yay:

By the way, I'm impressed that Pantene sent Bella a letter.

I know, we'll have to keep it. I was hoping they'd put an "In Memory Of..." on there since we did it imo Pierre's brother who died from cancer BUT happy to get one :goodvibes

Just catching up Leyla, not long to go now :yay:

Hey Jo! Not long for you either and I will be on the lookout in Epcot!!!

Yay for the documents!!!! Great update and pics. You guys really look like you are ready to GO!!! :goodvibes How cool Bella got a letter from Pantene! Well, I am super excited for you guys and can't wait to see all the pic's and read all about it.

Hi Cherie, how are ya?! Thanks, I'm getting there, Bella keeps asking if we can pack yet :upsidedow I want to but it's a bit early and we still need alot of the stuff!

Your trip is soooo close!

EE is my absolute favorite thing at AK. You have to go on it!

4 straight hours to do someone's hair?!? Wow!

Julie! I think we may FP EE so we'll at least have the option :) I did the permanent straightening (Bio-Ionic, Japanese straightening), it's amazing! If you ever come to this area....... you could always give me a call! I'd be happy to do it for you :thumbsup2

9 Days!!!!

I know, I'm SOOOOOO excited!

I nipped across the hall to Hollister today and got some new shorts ($19) and a couple of tops ($9 each). That is dirt cheap for them, I LOVE SALES!!!!:yay:

Hey, hey girlfriend! I think we should FP EE so we have the option. The safari should be first, Lion King is awesome, I'm all for the jungle trek and I have not seen Flights of Wonder so will be up for that. We did Rafiki's Planet Watch when we took Bella (and I was 8 months pregnant!) so that will be cool. FTB was pretty good and we sat by the water so we saw Mickey and Minnie go by in their boat. It was totally crowded so if it is again we'll hit up the sandwich place or maybe Rainforest Cafe (love their Asian salad!) I'll look into the tour but I think it's about $70 pp so I didn't bring it up before. What's a Safari Amber? Does it contain alchomahal :) :rolleyes1 ?Do you know something about Disney that *I* don't???!!!

See you tomorrow when I do your hair! Love ya!!!!! :hippie:

Okey-dokey, works for me!! Especially since you and I will have the FP hustle down :cool2:

Awesome, I'm glad you're cool with the stuff I picked (not that I thought you wouldn't be :upsidedow ). The Flights of Wonder show is only five times a day I think, but I wasn't sure how to check the schedule. It sounded really cool, though. I didn't realize the tour was an extra charge ... probably gonna have to pass on that one. It sounds really fun, but $70 would kinda put a ding in my "searching-for-a-new-job" budget :rotfl: There's plenty of other stuff to do so I'm not worried!!! :hippie:

I guess I do! It doesn't count, though, 'cuz Safari Amber's a beer and, thus, not on your bev list.

See you tomorrow when I do your hair! Love ya!!!!! :hippie:

Can’t wait to talk Disney tomorrow (also can’t wait to fix up my mop ... a wee bit overdue, I'm afraid! :sad2: ). Love ya too!

That permanent hair straightening would save me SO much time! Are there very few people who do it? If we ever make it out your way, I'm going to hunt you down! :lmao:

What do you think of Pureology products? I just started using a lot of their products and I love them!

I'm going to look at show schedules today and make a prelim park plan of attack :cool2: We should have plenty of time this week since you'll be over from Wed. till we leave so I won't pressure you about Fri night. If I loved baseball like you it would be hard for me to pass up 1 more visit to Fenway before leaving! How does your hair look?

I have about 10 people who do it and they LOVE it. The results are unbelievable- soft, shiny, silky, straight hair that can be left to airdry and still look good. It can be between $400-$900 in the salon but if I do it at home I charge $175-$400. If I remember I'll pm you some before/after pics! I haven't used Pureology but have seen it. I use mostly Bumble and Bumble, Aveda, Bed Head and Paul Mitchell. I'm not diehard for anything except for what works for a particular person!

:cool1: :cool1: 6 days!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: Oh yeah, uh huh :woohoo: :woohoo:

I hit up Kohl's yesterday and let the kids pick out a couple of new t-shirts. Bella got a cool HSM2 shirt that came with an Ipod-looking radio (which was the main purchasing factor  ) and a Nike coolmax one. Cooper got a Power Ranger Fury one and an Incredible Hulk one. I also got them swimming masks and sunglasses that were wicked cheap from Ocean State Job Lot. I got my gallon bags to put complete outfits in, bug repellent wipes, TR notebook, new Ipod headphones and digital camera batteries. I should probably get another memory card for my camera and I need to sort out our video camera (I need a refresher on using it) I have to double check on my cruise requirements since I have British citizenship, I have a Brit passport and green card but need to know if I have to bring anything else with me.

Ecogirl- I got a small umbrella for you at OSJL- it was only $2.50! I had to go to the beauty supply store as well and grabbed a travel sized seasalt spray for you for only 2 bucks. Just call me the Deal Queen! BTW- Cooper is requesting Harley's presence (only if there is a leash) when EcoMom comes over, can you believe it??!! I didn't even ask, he brought it up. Bella says we need to get a picture of us doing EE for visible proof  if we don't chicken out.

Question- I used TGM last year and don't know how much it helped since the parks were quiet in Sept. I'm debating whether or not to do it again or to try Undercover Tourist (or is it undercover guide?) OR if I should even bother since it's only 2 days. Any opinions???? I'll post my plans that I came up with so far a little later today.

6 DAYS!!!!!!!!!

From what I've seen about the TGM (DSIL is a fan), and the unofficial guide/touring plans site, they seem very similar.

I think you'd have good success with either TGM of unofficial guide. So I would do whatever is cheaper and easier!

Trip shopping is so much fun.

I can't believe you're at only 6 days! Yay!

Hey Leyla!!
Since I am on my way to the beach, I just wanted to come in and say hey and I Hope ya'll have a safe and fantabulous trip!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it and see your wondeful pictures when you get back!

ok I just saw this. can't wait to hear all about it. u r so close. :woohoo:

Hi Hedy! I checked out UG (and paid) but did NOT like it so they refunded me. I'm going to post my touring plans later but am still trying to decide if I want TGM.

TGM is around $20 and UG (didn't like them!) is $7 something. OMG I love shopping!!!! I just went to MA this morning a did a little there.

Hey Heather- have a FAB time, I know we will :yay: and thanks for the well wishes!

ok I just saw this. can't wait to hear all about it. u r so close. :woohoo:

Hey Scott!!!! Howz U? I nkow, I'm so psyched!!!!!

I took Bella up to MA this morning so she could spend a couple of days with Pierre's family. They are going to Boston tomorrow so she'll be busy. I met Pierre's sister halfway at a mall and got both of the kids some cool skateboard shoes with skulls all over them. Not that they can skateboard unless they get lessons from Heath and Javen :) I also got them each a book for the plane. I did some packing this afternoon but will have to finish Sat.morning. I can't believe I have to work all weekend!!!!!

Ecogirl is staying with us till we leave :woohoo: :woohoo: We will hopefully have our strategy meeting tomorrow night :teacher: I have some pics to post but will do it later!

Peace out homies!!!!!!!!!

Did I mention
4 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I took Bella and my niece to the local nail joint for some pedi/mani action :thumbsup2 It's my niece's birthday while we are gone so this was her birthday pressie (I'll get her a little something from Castaway Cay too)

IMG_0637.jpg

IMG_0640.jpg

We went to Dairy Queen for icecream afterwards

IMG_0646.jpg

Did I mention that I put some blue in Bella's hair? Remember the pink from last year? It's kind of hard to see here but you'll have plenty more shots from my TR! I ended up putting in another piece last night so it would be more noticable. She LOVES it and I think it actually looks pretty cool too! Suits her!

IMG_0644.jpg

I was working out last night and Cooper came into my workout room. He was farting around with one of the weights and dropped it. :headache: Not pretty. It's a weight bar and the lock was out of place so it didn't stop when he let go. One of them removed the locks from the frame so they are now completley banned from that room. I'm always yelling at them to stay out of there but they go in and mess around with stuff. Not anymore...... He has a big bruise on his leg to remind himself.

I bought all of our snackfood for the trip today  We'll see how much ACTUALLY makes it down there! Oooooohhhhh, I'm SO excited!!!!!

Ouch! Poor Cooper! I guess he learned his lesson about messing around in the weight room.

The blue in Bella's hair is very cool!

Did I mention
4 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

Did we mention 2 days!?!?!?!??!?!

Cooper and I were gazing in awe at the countdown calendar this morning, with those two lonely Mickey heads. It was so exciting!!!! Then Cooper said to me, "Tomorrow we can take down the '2' and then there will only be '1,' and then WE'LL BE IN DISNEY!!!!" His delivery of this message was hysterical - I wish I could convey it in words :guilty: . Suffice it to say that he is a little excited........

Yah for our strategy meeting tonight :woohoo: (complete with sushi and wine - which I'm certain will heighten the effectiveness of the strategizing ;) ).

2 days, 2 days, 2 days - I will no longer be a Disney newbie!!!! :yay: By the way, did anyone read about the character imposters being arrested outside Disneyland? It throws you off a little when you read a headline that says, "Peter Pan Arrested Outside Disneyland."

Been quiet for some time but still here.

Have a great time! Looking forward to the report.

Love the blue streaks and love that the girls got pedi's! Poor Cooper, I hope he's ok.

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS HAVE ONLY 2 DAYS LEFT!!!

EcoGirl....I read that article! I agree about the title, definitely caught my eye. I hope the workers get the benefits they deserve. :goodvibes
