We had a really early start this morning, as we were going to run the Princess Family 5km. Luckily we were staying at one of the resorts that the busses picked up from, so we just had to get to the lobby.
There was a really great party atmosphere at the starting line. I dont know who the MC was, but he had music blaring and he was getting everyone dancing and singing. I had our new camera, which I was still getting used to, so I got a lot of blurry photos.
We were way up the back, and I didnt realise that there were signs indicating that you needed to start in a starting area that corresponded to how fast you run... We were amongst the walkers...
That was ok, because mum was a walker, and my brother probably not much faster, followed next by DF, then me and my sister, and my dad is probably the fastest. It was fine, it just meant when we started we had to start slow, and then step around a lot of people.
I finished in just over 30 minutes. This was a great run! I loved going through Epcot early morning, and thought it was great that there were characters along the track that you could get photos with.
Im a bit competitive, so there was no way Id stop for the characters, but it was a nice thought.
After the run we went back to POR and got changed and headed to DTD for lunch. We stopped at EOS and DF got a sandwich and I got some soup.
We were met by DFs eldest brother, his wife and daughter who had arrived late the night before. They were coming back to our resort for tux fittings. DFs dad also met us, as he hadnt seen the other brothers in quite a while (being that he lives in the US, and they live in Australia).
We all jumped back on the boat and headed back to the resort. I think it was this day that I realised I hated the boats... We were all on the boat waiting to go and the skipper just seemed to be wandering around the dock, doing nothing! So frustrating! It was still half an hour until the tux appointment, but it was about then that they called to say that they were at POR...
I told them that my dad and brother were two doors down from us, so they could start with them, and hopefully we wouldnt be long. I was wrong, half an hour later we still hadnt reached POFQ...
We got to POFQ and again he stopped the boat, got off and stood around doing nothing. We asked him how long wed be there for and he told us he was actually waiting for the other boat which still confuses me, because no one ever swapped boats or anything. So we got off and walked.
Sure enough we beat the boat back to POR...
I feel so bad, but of course Ive forgotten pretty much everyones names that we dealt with...
Anyhoo, the people from Carolyn Allens were awesome! They were so good and accommodating and we felt like theyd do anything for us!
Turns out that they are friends with (or related to, didnt go too deep into it) DFs eldest brothers family doctor here in Oz... Small world hey...
After tuxes were taken care of, half of us went to MK, the other half went to DTD and I went to the Yacht Club to get my nails done.
Ive never had a nicer acrylic job done on my nails! They were gorgeous!
I then caught a bus to MK to meet up with DF and whoever he was with. Id been at WDW far too long, and not yet been to MK. It was weird...
So I turned up to MK and DF and his sister were lined up for Haunted Mansion. I told them Id meet them when they got off, and had a look around the park.
I must say MK doesnt have the same feeling at
Disneyland. I was expecting it to be exactly the same, just laid out different and bigger, but it didnt feel the same... It might have been the fact that the buildings were covered with the fake facades, but it didnt have the Disney smell, and didnt sound like Disney... It also might have been the fact that it was the middle of the afternoon and pretty busy.
I met up with DF and his sister and we rode BTMRR, and I think some other rides, but for the life of me cant remember which...
We met up with DFs brother and his family, and his dad coming out of Monsters Inc. And once again headed back to our resorts. We had reservations at Teppan Edo at Epcot, and were meeting with more guests, including DFs mum and step dad.
My folks met us at POR and we headed to Epcot together. When we arrived we had time to ride Mission Space, DF, my brother and I rode the Orange side and my mum and dad did the green. I loved this ride!! I wanted to ride again and again and again, but it turns out Im now married to a wuss, so only one ride allowed...
We met up with my sister after this, her boyfriend was sick so he stayed back at their hotel, which was sad because he loves the Japanese culture and would have loved Teppan Edo.
We then got a call from the new guests that had arrived that day. They had decided not to come to dinner because they didnt want to use a whole days park ticket just for dinner. This really annoyed me, I had explained all of that when I asked them if they wanted to come to dinner 6 months prior, they were all for it. So this turned our ADR from three full tables down to 1 full table and 5 at the other table.
Dinner at Teppan Edo was awesome! I wouldnt have minded trying to get another ADR here. Once again I cant remember our chefs name, but we chatted heaps. She knew the members of Operator Please, which are such a great band, and she told me that she was meeting up with them at SXSW.
I accidentally ordered the wrong thing, but it didnt matter, what I got was great anyway.
(a bigger volcano then ours at a neighbouring table)
We then went and stood out on the balcony and watched illuminations again.
After the fireworks finished we caught the friendship boat to the boardwalk with my sister and brother, and DFs brother and his family, while everyone else went back to their resorts.
We were going to meet up with the guests who didnt come to dinner.
We had a few drinks and grabbed some ice cream, and caught up with what everyone had been doing over the past few weeks, as theyd all being road tripping over the US.
Wed been up since 4am, and it was now after midnight so we caught a cab back to POR and called it a night.
