Beaver tails are GONE!

Beavertails weren't quite so popular after they stopped using the fresh ones, cooked on the spot, to order, imho. They were no where near as good as the originals.

I bet you are right...they used to be my fav snack and then when they changed from fresh made to already made and just heating them up, I didn't like them as much.

That woukd make sense on the beavertails for freshness.
We had a beavertail a few years ago. It was okay. KK is better.
Now that would be great if there was actually a convenient walk up location that sold coffee besides Nescafe! :hyper:

They have a Bevertails stand at the Toronto Zoo :)
I love the garlic and cheese one...
I'm not a fan of Tim Hortons, but I think that's because when I was a kid my mom told me that Tim Bits (like doughnut holes) were made from 'bits of Tim'. It grossed me out when I was about 6 and never wanted to eat there again. :D

ohhhhhhhhhh, ice wine :earseek: I had some at the F&WF, glad to know I can always have some now!!!!! (Silver lining to every cloud)

How much are they charging for a glass of ice wine? I know how expensive a bottle can be. I'm looking forward to having a bit next week. Just want to know if I have to pawn something to afford it. Ha! j

For the last two trips, we have paid extra to go to Epcot more than we planned. We were looking for Beaver Tails because we haven't tried them. Both times the booths were closed. Both times we had paid for extra epcot tickets for nothing! Now we'll never get to sample them.

As much as I like my Tim Hortons I can get that at home. Beaver Tails were like the elephant ears we can get at the fair so I guess that will have to sufice.

I would love to be able to get some good pickle chips. My sisters boyfriend used to bring them back for us when he went home to visit his parents in Canada. They have started selling some here in Ohio but they aren't as good. Never really cared for the ketchup chips.

Hope for everyone's sake that the Beaver Tails soon return. I never had them, but everyone seems to rave about them. The poster was probably kidding about Tim Hortons. It is a Wendy's owned chain so I imagine McDonald's would care for them to be on property. Although Wendy's is expanding the chain more deeply in the United States.

A few years ago they stopped deep frying the Beaver Tails and they weren't as good anymore. Business must have dropped off.

They sure weren't! After they began to fry the 'tails in a central location and shipped them to the kiosk in 'warmers', the effect was that of a piece of corrugated cardboard drenched in maple syrup and cinnamon. We never went back.

Just back last night & the beaver tails are gone. It was my DS's favorite!! He was VERY upset. Spoke to one of the CM's who said they had been having problems with the machine the last few weeks...but she also said that "sales were also down"...quickly changed that to tlaking about "how much problems they were having with the machine"...but she didn't see them coming back any time soon...she also said she couldn't believe how many people were asking for them!

Try the last few months. The machine was down 4 different days in July when we tried to get them, and I read several other posts with the same complaint. If so many people request them, maybe they'll serve them at a REAL restaurant where the machine won't be as likely to break down.

We found plenty of other yummy snacks in World Showcase, so it wasn't a big deal. The Marvellous from the French Bakery is especially good.

Another of the problems was they started selling them in the late afternoon, something like 4pm. We could never have them for a snack because we usually leave the parks by 1-2 and had to make a special trip to get one in the evening.

I agree about the marvelous!Yum!

I'm going to really miss the Beaver Tails. I'm so glad that me and my family got to try them in 2003 on our last trip. We had never had them before then and I guess will never. They were great and we enjoyed them during our wait for Illuminations.

George W. Bush is in Ottawa today and tomorrow.....perhaps he could bring some back for you guys! :teleport:
