Beauty and the Beast

I decided I would post this one here rather than in the UK one - for a change.

One quibble I have is the lack of any decent 'adult' themed merchandise for Beauty and the Beast. I'm wondering if there is the same drought 'over the pond'?

We get a lot of beautiful stuff for Winnie the Pooh, very popular over here, but very little for B & B. It's a real shame because that is quite popular here.

I've seen the occasional snowglobe, or other decorative thing, but you're right, hardly any housewares or things of that sort.

We had a nice music box store in the area but it closed about two years ago. They had some beautiful snowglobes, decorative plates and music boxes. As far as anything useful, no such luck. The only place I have ever been able to find anything like nightgowns, t-shirts or hat with Belle or the Beast on them has been 'The World of Disney' store at WDW and then you pretty much have to time it right. I did find a wonderful mug there last year. I just stock up when I visit WDW and hope it doesn't break. If anybody finds something online I would be very grateful if you would share the link. My best friend and I are both very big 'Beauty and the Beast' fans.

I agree with you 100%. Very scarce in the B&B department. I also love Robin Hood, an older movie and have a hard time finding anything for that movie either.

I'm not in the UK, but my niece loves Mary Poppins and I have a lot of time finding MP merchandise.

B&TB is my very favorite as well. It seems most items featuring it are either children's items or high priced collectibles. (There are a whole bunch of great pins too though.) Every so often, you'll find something neat thought. I have a wonderful shirt that has Belle on it with her thumb pointing off to the side. It says "I'm with the Beast"

Mary Poppins is my favorite movie of all time and I scoop up whatever I can find. I'm hoping that with this year being the 40th anniversary of its release that there will be some Mary Poppins merchandise when I visit in November.

A special edition 2 disc dvd comes out on December 14. Just in time for Christmas.

They do seem to favour some films more than others. You are also right in that you can get the 'little girl' stuff [for my 40th birthday this year friends bought me a Belle Wand!] but there is very little in the collectible line for B & B. I asked someone in our local Disney shop but they couldn't shed any light on this at all.

I have been able to get a few really nice mugs but that is about it. My family bought me one of the snowglobes one year to cheer me up following the death of my beloved dog Mishka but I know how much these things are and I think they are so expensive.

It is a shame really that they don't have more with the Beast on. A friend's child bawled her eyes out on seeing the movie for the first time because she hated the prince [he did look a bit odd, I thought so myself] and wanted the Beast back.

It's nice to know that there are other Beasty fans out there!!

I did manage to get a nice Belle pin when I went to Disneyland Paris but I did find it surprising that there wasn't more B & B merchandise available - especially considering the version of the story Disney used for their film was the French one!
