Beauty and the Beast?

Hey folks...this may be a silly question but I can't figure it out...

I did my fastpass+ selections Sunday night for our April trip. When I was doing DHS selections for two different days, Beauty and the Beast was unavailable either day - it said something along the lines of that distribution was completed, as opposed to saying that it was closed for refurbishment, which is what it said for BTMRR in MK.

It isn't make or break, and I know it's a show so not even really necessary, but it just seems strange. Is it really that popular that I wouldn't be able to get FPs at midnight on my 60 day window? My kids fear the TOT, so after Toy Story and Star Tours, I figured I'd add a show. I just tried to modify to see if it was available, and it's not on either day, even if I break our group of 4 down into smaller groups. It seems strange that there's still availability for Anna & Elsa or 7DMM or Toy Story for our trip, but not Beauty and the Beast? I looked at refurb lists but didn't see anything - just curious if I'm missing something, as I know I don't need the FP, but would like to see the show! Thanks! BTW, same situation with Flights of Wonder in AK...

What are your dates in April? Perhaps abandoning FPs at BatB coincides with no Wishes FPs after April 18th.

Could be part of the property-wide cuts going on. Less personnel needed if FP is eliminated for attractions where FP has never been necessary.

Aha! That makes sense, thanks! Yes, there from 4/15-22/16. I had heard about Wishes, but hadn't seen anything on BatB or Flights of Wonder so I didn't think of that - I was just worried that it was a closure or something, although that seemed unlikely.

I had been thinking about the Wishes thing, too! We didn't fp Wishes last April, because I didn't want to tie up the 3rd FP, and I hadn't done it for this trip, because the same reason and had read conflicting opinions about whether it was "worth" it, but then when I read it was ending, I had second thoughts to at least try it! I had booked the wishes dessert party for last April, but DH didn't want to do it, so I canceled then the price went up, so I regretted not trying it at the lower price! But I digress...

@TheFloatingBear ~ my FP window rolled to April 19th and BatB is showing availability. The reason why it doesn't show as an option for you is because it is Tier 1 and you've already booked TSMM as your Tier 1 ride.

I can't check beyond the 19th but wanted to explain the Tiers.

Thanks for following up! Yes, I definitely understand the tiers - although I had totally forgetten that BatB is tier 1! However, not really sure what happened, because it wasn't available for me to select at all for my initial selections. It's a little fuzzzy, since it was midnight and all, but it said "Distribution done for the day" and that was when I was making the initial 3 selections, before I plugged them in, so to speak. Meaning, I could change Toy Story to R&R or Fantasmic before I hit the next button, but not BatB. And like I said, FOW it was the same thing, and there aren't tiers in AK, I don't think. But then I just checked, and I can switch to Toy Story to BatB if I want, but I couldn't yesterday (although maybe I was trying to modify a tier 2?)! Still no FOW!

Anyway, I probably did something wrong with the tiers like you said...Of course, I really don't want a FP for BatB, especially if it's Tier 1, so I'm wasting your time, lol, I was just nervous with all of the cutbacks that I've been hearing about that it was going to be gone or limited! Again, unlikely, but who knows! I mean, if Lady Tremaine isn't safe, who is? j/k

You are too funny! Not wasting my time. I'm at Coronado Springs right now and our room isn't ready and my CM friend had to be in at 7:00a for a special event so I am room-less and park-less.

Illuminations also isn't showing FPs beginning April 19th. Fant and BatB appear safe probably to continue to draw guests to DHS.

Actually, I had just read your post about that on another thread - as I said, I'm a little nervous about all the cutbacks that I keep hearing about so I'm following one of the threads about it. Interesting....and again makes me wonder if I should FP one of the evening shows on the early end of our trip. Never done it, but don't want to feel like I missed something! And I joke about Lady Tremaine, but that was my DD9 first priority meet this year - just missed them last year and did some other princesses and ran out time. The sisters will have to do! And I don't even want to tell my DS11 that Pooh's no longer in Epcot - another "new" thing we were looking forward to trying. He should have outgrown Pooh by now but he loves him! Anyway, we always do Crystal Palace but thought we'd try the Epcot M&G, but no more...

I had heard that about Illuminations and it makes sense. My son is not a big fireworks guy, unless they are at a distance, and DH likes to beat the crowds out, so no one ever lets me stay for fireworks, generally speaking. Perhaps I should find new people to travel with?! This year I am putting my foot down for at least 1 fireworks show somewhere! Right now only showing 1 Fantasmic/night, but at least the Star Wars fireworks were extended!

Brisk, but that's sounds like great weather for a race! Maybe a little chilly at first, but better than too hot! Sounds so fun - good luck with the race!
