We are heading to DHS on 2/20. If we don't have a FP to Beauty and the Beast, do we have a chance at all of seeing one of the shows?

Absolutely! We’ve never gotten a fast pass for it, but we’ve seen it a few times.

Absolutely. FP+ just gets you seating in the front center section. Personally I prefer sitting on the closest row to the handicapped section on either side. Great for taking pictures and videos.

Thank you. Is it the same situation for the Lion King in AK? We can see the show without Fastpasses?

Yes, you can see Lion King without a FP.
Matter of fact, there are no shows where you need a FP. Not counting the nighttime shows that is.
No show that has multiple showings per day ever need a FP

Yes, just check out showtimes if you want to see a few of the shows at HS so you can sketch out a plan for the day. They are all shown several times throughout the day, but if you want to fit in a few, like Frozen, Indiana Jones, Disney Jr, and/or Star Wars, it is easier if you plan when you will fit those in between your FPs and ADRs.

Don't let not needing a FP make you question if it is good or not. Beauty and the Beast is a great show.

We have seen all of the shows and never have a FP for any of them. We once got a FP for the Frozen show after hearing that it was a necessity. But no, we didn't even need it for that. We regretted wasting our FP on a show when we didn't need it.

Thank you for the advice. We will definitely see the shows but I didn't want to miss them by not having a FP. Before I posted this, I got fastpasses for the the Indy stunt show. It sounds like I should switch those out with something else. Although, most everything in DHS that we want to do is tier 1. :(

Keep your Indy FP+, or switch it out for something else that does not need one -- like Muppets 3D. Tap in at the appointed time (preferably early in the day), whether or not you actually go see the show. That use will count as one of your 3 initial FP+ allotment, freeing you up to look for a Tier 1 experience as a 4th (or later) FP+.

The thing about shows is that the FPs aren't that advantageous. They do hold a section for the FP holders, but it starts filling in at the same time as standby. You still have to show up at the same time more or less. These shows seat a lot of people, so getting in is hardly ever an issue. The FP seats can be the better ones (sometimes), but if you get there late it's not much difference.

You may find the FP FAQ helpful, specifically Post #8.

Beauty and the Beast is a fabulous show. We saw it for the first time in October, and we all loved it!
