I know there have been numerous posts on grocery stores, but I've been lazy, or at work(SHHH-don't tell anyone I was reading the DIS boards on my lunch break!!) where I couldn't print. What would be the best grocery store to go to from Beach Club? And how would you get there? We have always used Wal-Mart before, but gosh that place is a mad house!!! We were thinking maybe a Publix, I'm iffy on Winn-Dixie, but I would also be okay with an Albertson's or SuperTarget. We will probably get diapers, milk, cokes, tea/sugar(I'm from KY-I need my sweet tea!)water, bread, sandwich meat, chips and snacks, and maybe some prepackaged salads.

Thanks!

Jennifer

I'm interested in the same information, but specifically for Albertson's. That's where I shop at home and would like to do the same when I'm at my "other home"!

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

We'll also be at BCV, in only three weeks

disynut: I can't help you with the grocery store info but I was wondering what city are you from in KY? Just wanted to say hello. Have a great trip.:D Denise

Do you need to beat this poor horse?

The closest grocery store is a Publix.
1. Turn right out of BCV, proceed to Buena Vista Blvd.
2. Turn left on Buena Vista and proceed to first traffic light (Victory Lane).
3. Turn right on Victory Lane and proceed to next traffic light.
4. Turn left at light and proceed to intersection (0.5 mi) with the Gaylord Palms on your right (International Drive South).
5. Turn right and the Publix is only a short distance (0.2 mi) down on your left.

I don't think the whole trip is more than 2 miles.

I think that we've "tried them all" - Goodings, SuperTarget, Winn-Dixie, Publix and Albertson's. Since we've got none of these stores where we live, we went out of our way this past trip to stop by Albertson's just to see what it was like. Our favorite is Albertson's and that's where we will be shopping on our next visit home. We thought, of all, that it had the best variety and prices, plus some neat "extras". We've faced this issue on all trips home and I'm glad that, for our family, we've got a clear choice. Hope this helps.

Thanks you guys! We leave for our trip home in less than two weeks! I can't wait and dh is going to be so proud of me being so prepared with instructions to the grocery and all!!!! Oh, and Denise, I am from Muhlenberg County(from the famed Everly Bros. song) in Western Kentucky. But we just got back last night from a convention in Lexington!!! Go Cats!

I just went to Deb Willis's site and she has all the grocery stores listed in the area. She even did a little price comparison on all of them. We have been going to Publix but I was thinking of trying something different when we return in a couple of weeks. The site is located at www.wdwig.com. I just put grocery stores in the search engine and got right where I wanted to be.

I think the Publix by Orange Lake is actually closer to BC than the one at 535 and 192, particularly if you go the back way out by AKL.

I remember reading that the Publix Poohstx wrote about is the nicest Publix in the area. That's the one near Gaylord Palms. The location is good, those streets are never very busy.

Have a magical vacation!
