Beat up over a place in line at teacups ride?

The RCID doesn't have any police. Disney Security is private. They darn well be careful about not calling in the cops if a guest is demanding that they be called.

Yeah but from what I've read, Disney wields so much political power that in the past it's done things like request Orange County police disarm before going into the parks or even demand that cops use unmarked cars when driving on Disney property so as not to alarm guests. Surely if Disney can do that, it need not worry about getting OC cops involved over a little fist fight by the tea cups.

Something isn't adding up here. Although she currently hasn't filed a lawsuit, it sure sounds like that's what is in the cards. Her attorney was most likely waiting for the criminal charges to come down. Disney's got the deep pockets, not the crazy gal from Alabama. Making points about how slowly Disney employees reacted to the incident and that her injuries could have been prevented if only security had been called sooner is a red flag. If someone is beaten to the point of receiving a concussion, a spinal injury and recurring seizures, wouldn't they realize it at the time? That's a serious beat down, not a minor scuffle, as the police report suggests. There is absolutely no excuse for the woman who used bad language and physically attacked the woman over the tea cup ride. She should have been evicted from the park immediately. I do question whether the woman on the receiving end of the attack was actually injured as badly as she is now claiming. Did she seek medical attention immediately after the incident to document the concussion and spinal injury? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

hilda:

--What police report are you referring to?

--Law enforcement determined that there was enough evidence of the crime to go drag Walker back from out of state.

--See the May 30 story. Describes what sounds like a pretty good beating. Witnesses are said to have seen Walker being abusive before she struck the victim. Also Disney pretty much confirms that they wouldn't call in the deputies. I don't see any change in the victim's story.

I don't see the red flags here that were apparent in the "Tigger attacked my kid" story.

I thought it was called 'Mad Tea Party' for a reason. . .

10 to 1 the ride name gets changed.

Probably something like 'Alice's-Happy-Non-Confrontational-Spinning-Pukey-Beverage-Containers'.

What if this was one of those "Year of a Million Fastpasses and Mickey Ears" things that Disney did? You know they let a family go to the front of the line and then all heck breaks out. Maybe then Disney would be a little shy about calling the cops.

I remember seeing this on the local news when it happened. They interviewed the lady who was beaten and filmed her injuries. She was pretty badly bruised and scratched up around her neck. I'm no expert, but it looked to me like someone had tried to strangle her. And yes, she did seek medical attention immediately after the incident, according to the story which aired on local news 13.

That's just such a horrible story! I feel so badly for the woman and her family, as well as the guests who witnessed it. That is certainly not something that anyone should have to endure anywhere, esp. at WDW.

I hope the crazy woman gets the maximum sentence and much needed anger management :sad2:

Does anyone know for sure {don't guess on this one } that if you use your cell phone on property to call 911, do you actually get the sheriffs department, or are the 911 calls somehow routed through the Disney phone syetem on property, and will Disney operators make the decision to call the authorities? I mean, everyone has cell phones today, and why wouldn't other witnesses to this incident call 911?:confused3

I wouldnt have thought that was possible personally

I bet she is planning on suing someone - probably Disney - as someone said her statement sounds as though it has been drafted by a lawyer and she has the "usual suspects" of "injuries" that occur whenever someone is looking for a cash settlement...things that are sometimes hard to diagnoise.

She has probably been told that Disney had no control over the inccodent itself and can not be held accountable for another persons actions on their property BUT there was a delay in calling the authorities. IF the woman is convicted of asult then they were negligable in not contacting the police earlier and therefore made it harder for this woman to build her case which may have potentially led to the woman not being convicted. She then will need to throw in a "mental anguish and stress caused by this senario" and BOOM she has a law sute. If they dont convict then her case is weakened by the fact that they will say that as no criminal charges were made in this case then Disney were justified in not requestion the presance of the police.

Im sorry but I apprechiate that whatever happened that day was unpleasent but this woman is sis on TV talking about it happily and like it was a shopping trip. I think I believed her more before the TV thing and saw how relaxed and calm she was about the whole affair to me something happened and she is trying to cash in any way she can

It'll be interesting...the attackers daughter said she was shoved by the victim prior to the attack. With no witnesses from the ride queue itself I wonder how this will go? It seems like the only place where Disney might be culpable is in not getting the names of witnesses.

Add the above info (that the 11 yr old said she was shoved by the victim first) to this quote from the article: "We were in Fantasyland, which is for 5- and 6-year-olds," Krause said. "Cussing and shoving shouldn't be accepted there." Think Krause thought it was OK to push past an 11 yr old because her kids were in the 5 yr old range?

I don't condone the violence, but something is not adding up...

Woman Charged With 'Line Rage' Beating at Disney World

Victoria Walker could face up to 15 years in jail. From MyFoxOrlando Reports

ORLANDO, Fla. -- It's supposed to be the happiest place on earth. But one woman says her experience at Disney World was anything but (video: MyFoxOrlando).

Aimee Krause claims Victoria Walker cut in line last year then beat her up when Krause called her out.

Now it seems the alleged "line rage" could send Walker to jail for 15 years.

The incident happened in May of 2007, but because the victim is now suffering serious after affects prosecutors are going forward with the case. New charges have also been added because Krause claims her children were also attacked.

Court documents say Walker beat Krause because Krause supposedly skipped Walker in the Mad Tea Cup ride line.

“She came from behind just screaming,” Krause said this week. “Next thing I knew she kicked me in my left leg, threw me to the ground and at that point I was pinned between the teacup and the saucer and she continued to beat up on my body.”

The incident report states Walker also tried to choke Krause with a lanyard she wore to hold water bottles around her neck.

Krause's medical records indicate the attack was so brutal, the 35 year old sustained severe physical damage.

When the alleged incident happened last May Walker was arrested. She bailed out of jail and returned to her home in Alabama.

During a deposition this past Monday though, Walker declined to accept a plea deal that would have given her a one year jail sentence.

Now Walker could possibly face 15 years behind bars if convicted on a battery with a deadly weapon charge.

Attempts to reach Walker were unsuccessful, because her phone is disconnected. Her attorney, David Frederick Allen did not return our phone calls.

Jury selection for the ‘Tea Cup Madness’ trial will begin in April.

If you read all the news reports over the past several months and add them together, you'll find that the ONLY person who says the victim did any pushing is the assailant's daughter. However, independent witnesses who are not associated with the victim in any way, back up her story that the assailant was cursing and shoving people (including children) AND they also say that more than one person had asked CMs to remove the assailant before the attack happened because she was making them very nervous....basically, they were afraid of her. Go figure.

The marks around the victim's neck were from being choked with the lanyard. Perhaps the assailant is skilled at attacking from behind and choking because of her experience. She has a record of this sort of thing. She is not Aunt Bea, by any stretch of the imagination.

If I had a loose cannon around me, had asked CMs to remove her and they'd done nothing, that would irritate me. But if I moved where the CMs instructed me to move and that caused loose cannon to become so enraged that she brutally attacked me, I'd be furious. (By the way, it took more than one person to drag this thug off the victim.) And once I'd been beaten half to death and choked, if WDW refused to call law enforcement when I requested it, I'd be livid. Because I would not only be angry at the attacker, but I'd want her off the streets since she's a menace to society. And as the victim noted, with every minute that passed, witnesses were walking away wanting to get back to WDW.

I like WDW as much as the next person, but it sounds to me as if they wanted this to quiet down, downplay it and if possible, have it go away. Sssshhhhh! It's telling that as soon as police and a judge got a look at the victim and talked to witnesses, they thought it warranted an immediate arrest. You can scream "lawsuit abuse" all you like, but you weren't on the receiving end of this beatdown. Be grateful for that.

I haven't been on the teacups in a while so I don't know if the que has changed any. Last time I went on there was a line that led to a corral area where most people stand up front near the fence and then others have to fit in behind them. If this woman was in front leaning on the fence, and the second woman came in behind her and ended up near the gate the first woman might have thought she was cutting. I hope that mkaes sense.

We're always nervous on things like Dinosaur and Test Track that people will think we're cutting when we move all the way to the door instead of standing up front.

You can't let us black folks do anything anymore. For every civilized, well raised black family, there seems to be hundreds of others who just don't care. A lot of times I am ashamed at the way they act. My kids never have and never will go to public schools or watch BET or MTV because the blacks in the main stream act like a bunch of animals which leads to incidents like this one.
