What should I request for the best building to stay at if I am booking a standard room at the CBR?

Jamaica 44 or 45 is just a nice walk over the bridge to OPR.

I'm going to suggest not booking standard if you can at all help it. My one stay at CBR I requested Jamaica and was placed in 44, right by the smoking area. It was convenient to the bus stop, but very inconvenient to everything else. Even though I had a refillable mug after hiking to the front to fill it one time I was done. I ended up buying pop from the machine near my room. If you plan on using the food court of featured pool a lot, a preferred room is the way to go.

Jamaica is an excellent village, #45 seems to be a highly requested building. Aruba #51 is also highly requested. Martinique has some not preferred buildings and is really close to the OPR.

True enough, but there are a lot worse/ further away rooms than those in Jamaica if you are booking standard. It really didn't seem far to us, but I guess all things are relative.

In the end, I always recommend a preferred location at CBR, POR or CSR, as well. MUCH nicer a stay, IMO. but there are times when standard rooms are either all that is available or all that is in the budget his time.

Yes, that is right. Aruba is close as well. I haven't stayed there, but it would be an excellent location.

I think Jamaica or Aruba are great locations. We were in Jamaica 46 so not even the closest building and the walk over to OPR only took 6 minutes. And it's a beautiful relaxing walk at that.

I read somewhere that the distance around the lake was a little over a mile, so I'd assume the walk from the farthest building to the middle couldn't be over a mile. From the front of Epcot to the back is over a mile. I'd use that as my guide, if you have no problem with that walk, I'd think any location would be fine. Personally, I can't think of a time I've been at Epcot I haven't crossed the park at least twice. I usually stay at YC and walk to Epcot from there so if you've done that, again, I'd think any building would be fine.

I've had 10 knee surgeries including both knees being replaced and my wife has MS...we have never found the walk to be to bad. And 6-8 minutes is about right.

I've only had 1 knee surgery, but my problem with the walk is that after crossing Epcot a few times the last thing I want is another hike at my resort just to get food or a drink. Or to grab something from the gift shop. The walk to the front at CBR isn't a walk thru the desert, but it is just more walking added during a trip where we all already do a lot of walking. No thanks. If you can avoid it, then I think you should.

I was told by many people that the walk isn't that bad and to just request a close room. That was NOT true. We got stuck in the farthest place from the from and the walk was so long to the main building! I would NEVER stay at CBR again and not have a preferred view to guarantee a close room.

Just kidding (kinda) Jamaica would be your best option (in case you cant find a cab).

And you should keep in mind that while you can request a certain building or room location, there is no guarantee you will get what you request. You could request Jamaica 44 and end up in Barbados 13.

We just stayed in Jamaica 45 last week and it was great. Very close to the bus stop and it is the first stop, so after a long day at the park you are the first ones off the bus in the evening. It is a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the food court area and the feature pool. Overall, we were very pleased with Jamaica 45.

Or you can request Barbados (I like that I can easily walk there from the Customs House after checking in or there to store luggage after checking out and not have to do the interior shuttle) which pretty much no one does and be given Jamaica 45 (probably the most requested building) even with an 11pm arrival. True story - happened to me Marathon Weekend 2015. Go figure.

Yeah I wouldn't request a certain building or room because if that's not available then they could just put you anywhere. I would just say closest to the main building!

I've stayed at CBR like 14 times and have stayed everywhere. I have to tell you, we've adjusted to wherever we've stayed. In the morning, if you stop for a bite to eat at Old Port Royale, you can catch a bus right in front of OPR. It's a big resort for sure but to me, there's advantages and disadvantages no matter where you stay. Personally, I like Aruba - but other posters are correct, request a room.

Good luck!

We booked water view last year, requesting Trinidad North. We got it. We weren't happy with the view, so we asked to be switched. We got moved to Aruba and loved it!
