Bear Country to Critter Country

Does anyone know why the name of Bear Country was changed to Critter Country in 1988?

With the addition of Splash Mountain (which was supposed to open in 1988 but was delayed by technical issues), the audioanimatronics were no longer just bears, so Critter Country fit better.

Critter Country fits much better than Bear Country. Especially now since the Country Bear Jamboree is no longer there.
