beachfront mini vacation

Hi everyone. We are playing a disney trip in May and were thinking of adding a few days for a beach vacation too. Okay....so I need some ideas of nice beaches withing 2 hours or so and recommendations of places to stay that are beachfront. We are a family of 6, so hotels usually cannot accomodate us. I would love to hear some suggestions....would love to wake up to a view of the ocean! Thanks so much!

I have not stayed at any hotel there BUT Coco beach is nice. Plus it is near the space center and you could easily visit for a day..

Clearwater is really nice and lots to do. If you search on Homeaway or VRBO for La Sal Suites, there are some awesome condos in that property that were really reasoable in price and its a great location.

Siesta Key is absolutely beautiful and peaceful! Crescent Towers is where we stay but they won't be able to accomodate your family. There are plenty other options there though.

We stayed at Wakulla Suites in Cocoa Beach a few years ago. It was a great place for larger families since we had a 2 bedroom for less than $100. Since it had a kitchen we could easily save extra by having breakfast and lunch in the room which left more time for the beach since we didn't need to clean up and dress for lunch!

I am having trouble with finding availability in both suites that were recommended. Any other ideas?

Clearwater and Sea Captain Resort on the Bay!

You are on the Marina side of the street, but right across the street is the most popular stretch of the great public Clearwater Beach and the pier. You can walk to all the boats with the boat/dolphin tours -- right next to the property. You can walk to the Marina. You can walk to Crabby Bills, a fun place to eat with great guitar player entertaining in the evenings. This property gets lots of repeat visitors who come back every year.

We stayed at Wakulla in july and it was nice for a family. Rooms kind of plain, but lush landscaping and close to beach, spacious, safe, and quiet

We really like Vero Beach (and Disney has a resort there). While not directly ocean front, we stay here and its really close:
