Beaches Turks and Caicos or Atlantis

I don't suppose anyone is aware of any discounts for Beaches (T&C) that I could pass on to my sister???

Yes, Beaches is always running sales. Usually the best is 65% off. You can book with Beaches/Sandals Certified Specialist or directly with Beaches (their booking part of the company is Unique Vacations Inc.) and you are able to rebook for any lower sale rates that come out from the time of your booking until the time of final payment (45 days prior to departure) so keep an eye on sales. They also run specials such as Companion Flies Free and 7th Night Free as well as adding in Spa Credits. The current specials can be found on their main website.

I disagree with the PP. While I do believe Beaches T&C is an expensive vacation I think you get a great value for your money and that Beaches includes more amenities and higher quality food and beverage than other family all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.

ETA: I believe they are offering $250.00 air credit and 65% off right now. Unlike Disney, you can stack discounts but you usually have to be staying in a higher level room category for 6 or 7 nights to be eligible for all the discounts and promotions. In addition, if you have ever stayed at any other Beaches or Sandals Resort in the past you can call to get your Sandals Select Guest number added to your reservation which usually takes around $150-$250 off your total on top of other discounts and promotions.

The last time I was at a Beaches Signature Resort, my family and I spent well over 11K and we had an awful time. The place was dirty. Overcrowded. They didn't accomodate my handicapped mother properly (even though I booked almost a year in advance). It was an absolute nightmare, and I ended up spending most of my vacation on the phone to my "Sandals Certified" rep. It was the worst vacation I've ever had. Further, while standing on the beach one night talking to my husband during a guest event - we ended up in a group coversation with 3 other couples who were all disgruntled about their visits as well We all were talking about how overpriced it was and how awful it was. The rooms were dirty and smelled musty. One girl was saying that her and her husband tried to get themselves and their daughter moved to another resort outside of sandals by their rep and had no luck. We all talked about how overpriced it was and one family said they would have rather stayed at a nearby resort that they had previously used.
I guess if you've had better you know the difference, but compared to other resorts - for the price you are paying you could be getting much better.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Was this Beaches Turks and Caicos or Negril?

This was my most recent experience:

I stayed at Beaches Turks and Caicos a year ago with almost 30 family members and friends. We have all stayed at other all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean in Mexico that admittedly cost a lot less including the one I got married at (Riu Ocho Rios with 60 friends and family members there). We were impressed with the level of service we received. The staff remembered us by name and went out of their way to come talk to us and especially gushed over my son. The food and beverage was well above the quality of other AI resorts. You do not have to make dinner reservations (except for the hibachi) so we liked the freedom that allowed. At other AI resorts, you have to wake up and stand in line in the lobby at 8am to get your dinner reservation for the night or call a number that is busy most of the time.
American Airlines lost the stroller that I checked at the gate. Beaches gave me a rental wagon type stroller they rent out there.
Although it was the tail end of hurricane season, we were there when Hurricane Tomas was headed straight for this tiny island. The Beaches management did an excellent job of keeping all the guests informed of the latest forecasts, what preparations were being made, and keeping us calm. I truly felt that resort was one of the safest places to be on that island. The managers had meetings for us to attend to get updates and also posted updates in the lobbies of each village. Although, the island did not get hit as originally forecasted, the small airport did close for 2 days. We had to stay an additional 3 nights due to this and being unable to get booked on another flight home as soon as they reopened. We traveled in hurricane season without travel insurance so it should have been our problem. However, Beaches voluntarily comped 1 night for all of us and steeply discounted the other 2 nights as well as upgrading those in the least expensive rooms to higher room categories. The room upgrade was due to the less expensive rooms being on ground level of the Caribbean Village which was the most likely to flood. They did not wait until rooms flooded and guests complained like many resorts would do they preemptively made this move to take care of their guests. I felt very well taken care of there and would not hesitate to return. In fact, my Mom is so depressed that we will be home this Halloween and desperately wishes we were headed back there this Halloween.

That being said, not all Beaches resorts are created equal. I am specifically speaking about T&C even more specifically we were in the new section, the Italian Village (although I had family staying in all 3 villages and none of them had complaints regarding heir rooms).

Thanks so much for the info. I just emailed it to my sister.

On the discounts - I get a email every month called their "promotions at a glance" thats where Beaches outlines all the sales, spa credits for the different room categories..basicallty everything unless they toss a mid month special in there which they do from time to time but we get those specials in a email.

Send me a private message if you wanted to see any of that.

Heading back there again in December!!! cant wait :0)

I have never been to Beaches but have been to Atlantis. It was our best vacation ever and I would go back in a heart beat. I think it depends alot on the style of vacationer that is going as to which one would be better. For us, hand down Atlantis was cheaper. We had no issues with the cruise ship people and nothing was overcrowded. No problem finding a chair.

We got the meal plan which for us worked out great. We had one out of pocket meal and that was on arrival day due to the time the plane left and arrived. We don't drink so having alcohol included wouldn't do anything for us and we tend to eat less fancy items and enjoy less fancy restaurants. We will be returning as soon as I find a great deal again!

Thanks for posting this! We leve for Atlantis on Wednesday morning and I was thinking i needed to lower my expectations. Our trip is mostly free - company trip for dh covers air, transfer to hotel, hotel, breakfasts and 3 of the 4 nights dinner. I've been out of work for a year, so we don't want to spend a lot on our lunches and extra dinner, etc, so I think I'm going to pack some pb crackers, cereal bars, etc that might hold us between breakfast and dinner. At least they might make it where we dont need any extra snacks. Anyway, glad to hear someone enjoyed the resort, and we aren't expecting it to be too crowded since i think its still low season for them. (well, except for the 500 ppl with our group :rotfl2:).

I went thinking everything was going to be super expensive so that probably helped. To me it wasn't any different then Disney as far as prices go. We ate a later breakfast and then earlier dinner to help with not eating lunch in the middle but I think the latest we ever actually went to breakfast was 9 am.

Our dinner times are set but I'm hoping we can do the same and since my sister and parents have been before I know to plan for expensive, just good to hear someone else enjoyed it!
