E normally go to dana point baby beach - my kids live it. This trip, they've asked if they can collect shells for their teachers - no shells that i've ever seen at baby beach! Can anyone suggest a younger- kid (4&7) beach where they can do some splashing in the water and gather some shells??? Hoping to go tomorrow!!! Thanks :-)

It's not the location, it's the time you go looking. Try walking on the beach at 6am-7am for shells. Just keep in mind that while shells are rare and you're likely to find fragments.

Well, we went to silver strand state beach on coronado island ... Ocean side. At noon!! Found about 50 sand dollars and easy could have picked from thousands of shells!!! So surprised and pleased. Kids were so excoted ... some of the better ones were found in about 6-in of water. So awesome!!!
