Beaches Resorts

Has anyone stayed at any of the Beaches Resorts? I was pricing them for next Christmas and the prices were astronomical!! (Like $10K for the week without airfare) I'm sure you could get a better price for a different time of year...I'm just wondering what is so special about this chain that it charges such a premium over other all-inclusive resorts in the same countries....

I looked into Beaches this afternoon. We too are looking for a vacation alternative. My husband would like to take a break from cruising, but for that cost we could do several cruises. I would love to hear if this price is the norm. I think my quote was around $8,000 for June.

I've been to Beaches Turks & Caicos and Beaches Negril.
Remember each property has several categories in varying price ranges, Beaches Turks alone has 30 categories! I believe the resorts are a cut above "all inclusive". Scuba is even included at all the Sandals and Beaches resorts, which is something that can add up quickly if you do that on your own.
Each property has it's own unique personality, but I can tell you from personal experience the food, accommodations and service are fabulous.

I priced Beaches T&C for January for 4 ( taking DDs friend ) and found the prices reasonable ( high but reasonable ) I also priced it for just DH and I for July and it was very expensive. We booked Sandals St Lucia for 8 nights instead. It was a steal, all inclusive, all tips, drinks AND a two tank dive a day- we're giving it a shot. ( We usually spend around $100 per person for a daily 2 tank )

While we're there, if we like it, I plan on pricing Beaches again.

The $10K quote I received was for the lowest category. The highest category was $39K for the week. (My dh and I had a good laugh over that. Seriously, who is paying that kind of money for one week in the Caribbean!)

You didn't say which property you priced out. Beaches Turks will always price out considerably higher than the others because it's not as "mainstream" of a destination as Jamaica. The higher categories are butler suites, and yes there are people who do book them and a pay those prices. People who are accustomed to that type of lifestyle.

Any propery you price out in Turks and Caicos is going to be expensive. There aren't alot of resorts and its a pretty exclusive area. We have taken the kids to Beaches Turks and Caicos twice and I can tell you it was one of our best vacations. We took a 7 night Disney Cruise last year after all was paid for on the cruise including drinks and excursions we paid about the same as our trip to beaches. You have to play around with different times of the year because just like DCL, school breaks and summers are higher.

If you really want to go to Beaches another alternative is to stay at Sandy bay in Negril. Its alot cheaper and it has full exchange privlages with beaches Negril.

Wile we loved our trips to Beaches T&C, we now travel to the Iberostar chain, and we like it just as much (even more so that we can take 2 vacations to an Iberostar for less that the cost of 1 week at Beaches T& C).

Beaches was great when our daughter was smaller, as there are not many resorts that accept little ones into the daycare programs. If though your children are over the age of 4, you can do much better price wise at most other reputable "all-inclusive" chains such as Iberostar, Barcelo, Riu, Dreams, etc.

We went to Beaches Negril in 2007 and had a great time. The service was great, lots of activities. Even though the resort was booked during the holiday week, it never felt crowded. We had 12 people, ages 3.5 to 75. There was something for everyone to enjoy. We would definitely go back. I don't have anything to compare it to though, it was our first all inclusive. We are trying a Riu this February.
