We are thinking of taking our 2 boys (5 & 1) to Beaches Turks & Caicos & are looking for opinions from families that have been there. We are going to WDW this winter & then we want to go somewhere more relaxing this summer. Right now the only problem we see about going to Beaches T&C is traveling there & back. I'm not looking forward to a full day of travel w/2 little ones. But if it's a great place they will enjoy, then it's worth it.
I love that I can find any info I want about WDW, but it's frustrating to me that I can't get the same amount of info for other destinations.
BTW, I have looked at trip advisor too.
Thanks!

Try tripadvisor.com. There are lots of reviews of Beaches as well as other T & C resorts.

We went in March & loved it! It was very relaxing and everyone had a blast. If you can fly direct, it's really not much harder than going to Disney. We flew out of Philly & it was only a little over a 3 hour flight. I'd be happy to answer any questions, you can PM me also!

There's no direct flight out of Chicago. I wish there was though. It would make a big difference.

I have been twice and Turks is my favoriite place.

Ah, that does make it more of a production! My sister-in-law had to fly thru Miami and it wasn't that bad. The resort was really great though and we'd all go back in a heartbeart. You should go!

Yeah, we would stop at Miami or Charlotte. All the trips we've taken w/our DS were to places that had nonstop flights. So this would be our 1st flight w/a stop & w/2 little ones now too. It also takes 2 days out of our trip. We could get a direct flight to Jamaica if we decided to go the one of the Beaches there, but based on the reviews I've read, Turks & Caicos is better. It won't be the 1st flight for our baby though. We are flying to WDW 1st, so we can see how he does. Our older DS does great in planes.

I am considering this for next year as well. Can you give me advice on room category? Is concierge really worth the extras?

I wonder that too about concierge service & what you would use them for. Of course butler service would be superb, but I definitely can't afford that!

Only thing that I can tell is you get seperate check in with snacks and drinks, they will make your dining reservations for you and those rooms come with minifrig filled with drinks and snacks.

Oh, so the other rooms don't have a fridge? We would need that w/a 1 yr old. Making dining ressies for us is pretty good too. I'll have to check out the diff in price for a concierge room.

We went in April, Myself, daughter & grandson (3yrs) Place is absolutely beautiful, that being said I have to say we were bored. I love the pool and beach, but to me there has to be more to do, although the place sounds as if there are "Many" activities for little ones, they are really geared towards the children in the "daycare" programs, and you will find their schedule difficult to keep up with if you do not put your children into their program, which leads me to another issue- if you hope to find other little ones for your children to play with during the day, be it at the beach or the pool or playground, you will not find many toddlers around during the day because most are in daycare.

The places to eat are wonderful, make a reservation for the Japanese place and BRING the kids, All the places are very geared towards children, so don't be afraid to take them.

As far as the room differences, we stayed in Caribean village, I would def. step up a notch to the French village (closer to the water park), personally I wouldn't waste my money with concierge or butler, not my thing. Suggest you take advantage of the "Photo shoot" it was expensive but the pictures were unbelievable, so worth it. Another suggestion- buy your kids those swim shirts (UV protected) BEFORE you get there, gift shop sells them for $58 each, Lots and Lots of sunblock for the kids, bring from home, very expensive there.

Place is beautiful, very relaxing, little too relaxing for me- I prefer the "Disney / Vegas" pace.

Feel free to PM me also if you have any other questions I can answer!! Have fun!
