does anyone know the best beach to be at in florida..

not alot of partying.. and mostly peaceful and relaxing..

want to spend a few days there during april

thankssss :wave2:

I second Pass A Grille...great gulf beaches, awesome restaurants, off the 'spring break' path.

If you want to know of a few good 'mom and pop' hotels/efficiencies, PM me. I've stayed at a few before moving down here.

BTW, watching the sunset from the roof of the Hurricane, cocktail in hand, is not to be missed. A close second is sitting at an outdoor table at woody's, watching the boats come in and out of the inlet!

Siesta Key Beach...gorgeous white sandy beach along the Gulf. :)

I second the Siesta Key suggestion. That beach is absolutely beautiful (and a factor in our decision to move to Sarasota!) :sunny:

I've only been to two Fla. beaches....New Smyrna & Daytona. I must admit, I was rather surprised that there wasn't a lot to do at Daytona--except eat and drink! (lots of bars and such)... but, the Daytona boardwalk is just like a huge arcade..not many shops. New Smyrna doesn't have a boardwalk, and it's a quiet town...not very big. nice beach....you can drive your car on their beach too! (my BIL lives there)

I like Naples on the gulf coast. :sunny:

I like Pass-A-Grill and Siesta key about the same. They are both pretty much paradise. I love the Hurricane restaurant.

If you want completely peaceful, try Casperson Beach in Venice. It is a "rustic" beach with almost nothing around. You do pass Sharky's Restaurant on the way out, but other than that, it is a beach in the middle of nowhere. Nice shells and it is in the Shark Tooth Capital of the World.

I like Naples too. We went there when I was 6 months pregnant and it was a great relaxing, last baby-free trip.

Definitely Siesta Key, Longboat Key or even Lido beach in the Sarasota area.

naples beach was voted one of the best beaches in the country(it might have been the world not sure),recently.

Another vote for Siesta Key. They sand doesn't get hot (I think it has a high content of quartz). It is just beautiful and if you go after Easter it should be pretty desserted.

To the others, where is Pass-A-Grill??? Never heard of it.

Southwestern tip of St. Pete beach.

Here is a link for The Hurricane

Jupiter beach is by far the best beach in Fl....It is quiet and so beautiful. It is about a three hour drive from Disney but so worth it....Juno beach is also nice

we go to caspersan beach each year. I love to hunt for Sharks teeth. So relaxing. Granted the beach isn't as pretty as some but it isn't packed. We have tried several times to go Siesta Keys and it was just way too packed for us!

We spent a few days last summer at St Augustine Beach, it was great. It was only a 2 hour drive from home, we stayed right on the beach at the Holiday Inn. Very relaxing, quiet beach. We ate at all bar and grill type restaurants, we were told no chain restaurants were aloud beachside. We paid 50 cents each and walked out onto the pier and spent an hour watching others catch fish and baby sharks. We also spent time in downtown St Augustine taking the free shuttle from the hotel which is included in your trolley ticket to tour the city. We hope to go back again this summer for a few days.

Don't know how far you're willing to go, but Navarre Beach on the panhandle is breathtaking. We even got engaged there, so it is pretty close to my heart. Pristine white beaches and never crowded. And if you want more activity and restaurant choices, Fort Walton and Destin are a nice drive in one direction and Pensacola is not far in another. HIGHLY recommend! I wish we lived there.

How funny! I was just going to mention my favorite beach town, Seaside, FL (on the other side of Destin). We go every Spring for a week and just lay out, swim, read books and eat out.

The community is really, really small (we bike-ride everywhere) and a little upscale, so the restaurants/shops there are amazing. We always meet super nice people and we can't wait to go back in May!

EVERYONE I work with loves Seaside! (Cue the "It's a Small World" music).
