Has anyone been able to book Beaches & Cream for the second week in June? My ADR window opens tomorrow and I’m hoping to book it, but when I was playing around with availability just now, there is literally nothing available at all for the days leading up to our arrival day. I just want to make sure I didn’t miss an upcoming closure or something.

Nobody has posted on the Yacht & Beach Club thread about a closing of this particular restaurant.

But on April 17, a Twitter account tweeted this:
As Walt Disney World continuously refreshes and enhances elements of its on-site resorts, select areas around Disney’s Beach Club Resort will undergo refurbishments beginning today (Monday, April 17, 2023):
  • All Guest rooms at Disney's Beach Club Resort will be refurbished in phases through the beginning of August. Guests will not be placed in these rooms while they are being refurbished.
  • The Beach Club Concierge Lounge will be closed for refurbishment through the end of May.
Nobody had heard anything about this prior to that "beginning today" notice. So it's possible that something is going on at Beaches & Cream.

But it's also possible that it's just hard to book because it's small and popular.

As I'm sure you know, it's one of the harder ADRs to secure. I haven't gotten any hits on my alerts for May except one at 1055 pm.

Part of this will depend on your party size. I see very limited availability for parties of 3 and up. Parties of 2 it is wide open in June.

I was able to book a bit later in June (19th).

As mentioned above, it's extremely difficult to get.

We'd wanted to try it for about 10 years but never could snag an ADR for just us two until our 2021 trip.

Try the old tricks of off-peak mealtimes, entering specific times as well as lunch or dinner, and splitting your party into 2s if you can. You can ask to be seated together if willing to wait, though as crowded as it is, you could end up waiting a long while.

Another trick that's gotten us some hotspot ressies is trying very early on a weekend morning when sane people are sleeping in. :)

Our reservation window opened on April 11 for our June 10-17 trip and we were able to snag two different afternoon reservations (one day at 2 pm and one day at 2:15 pm) for there fairly easily, for a party of three.

Also, try when you are on your trip. We ate there twice last minute in May due to cancelations.
Done that on the last 3 trips-couldn't get ADRs ahead of time, but got ADRs while on property.

We just returned. I found most places that did not have availability did open up while we were there. Reservations are much more flexible than they used to be. Seems as if people, including myself are modifying reservations all the time now. I think a lot of it is due to the Genie system with having rides during specific windows that you had to take what you got and then rearrange meals around it. I actually cancelled an evening one at Beaches and Cream, but rescheduled one for a lunch. It was surprisingly slow at lunch and there were empty tables. The waiter said that was unusual. They were taking walk ups.

That was our experience last Jan. We had only planned on being there 4 nights then heading to Vero Beach. There was some type of issue at VB (heard it was a water leak) that caused them to take multiple rooms out of service last minute, and they let us keep our Riviera room for five extra nights. So we were scrambling to make ADR's less than a week in advance. At first, it was pretty slim pickings. But once we got on property, our options greatly improved. There was a wide variety of restaurants available. We even grabbed Homecomin' day of. Heck, we saw Be Our Guest show up pretty much every day at multiple times. We didn't want to eat there, but found if funny that such a coveted ADR could have been had day of. Granted, this was Jan, so a slower time, but it was pretty eye opening.
