BEACHES & CREAM WHAT TIME TO GO?

I was hoping to go to beaches n cream on our first night this Sat.(our only beach club night, the rest is at okw) We should check in around 5pm ish. Do we go eat then or go to the pool? What would give us the least amount of wait for dinner? I was hoping to stroll to epcot to see illuminations. HELP what to do? What do you think the wait time would be at 5-5:30 ish for dinner? Do you think it would be better to dine later and give the kids a snack in the afternoon?

After check-in, I would dress for both Beaches, and the pool, wearing coverups over the swim suits, check for wait times for Beaches, if you can get in quickly, do the wait, after eating do the pool, or vise versa, either way be ready for both, and then you'll have plenty of time to view Illuminations.
