Can I ask what made it uncomfortable? We have a dinner reservation for there in February but we aren't convinced we will keep any of our indoor dining reservations.
Let me preface this saying that we were Covid tested before the trip as a personal precaution- negative - and we tested as a precaution after the trip - negative. We do not regret going and loved our trip AND there were some moments of discomfort including dining at Beaches and cream.
While it’s been expanded since our last visit, the tiny size of this restaurant and the amount of tables they sat were not comfortable to us. It was obvious tables were removed but it still felt like we were too close to other patrons without masks for our own comfort. We kept our masks on until the food was served and put them back on as soon as we were done eating. This is not generally done nor requested/enforced at any Disney restaurant. It just made us feel better while being in what felt like a cramped space.
We had not dined indoors more than two times (at our neighborhood coffee shop) prior to our to Disney trip so that is something to keep in mind with how we felt. The only other place that we felt uncomfortable in addition to Beaches and cream was Thanksgiving day at liberty tree Tavern. We requested to sit in the diamond horseshoe annex due to the higher ceilings and less close quarters but it still felt too crowded to us and wrong to be unmasked to eat in that situation.
The last indoor regret we had on the trip was waiting in a nearly 3 hour flight of passage line with at least an hour indoors. Had we known the indoors part would be that long we would have not got in line in the first place. The ride is amazing but we felt uneasy about that long of an indoor queue.
We also ate indoors for breakfast at the wave, Dinner at grand Floridian café lunch at chefs de France, Dinner at whispering Canyon - fortunately on the backside of the fireplace where there were only two other tables versus the larger side with the “full” dining room. We also ate at Sanaa, Hollywood Brown Derby, 50’s Prime Time (slightly uneasy - asked for different table), and Sci Fi.
We also upgraded from CBR to a one bedroom at the Riviera so we could have a kitchen and homebase to decompress if/when we got stressed end it really provided a bit of a sanctuary having the balcony and extra space for us and our two teenagers. We got an Insta cart order and had some breakfast items and snacks at the room and brought back quick service and leftovers at times. Quick service indoor dining was regal eagle and Sattui canteen and both were excellent with table spacing and our feelings about ceiling. height/airflow
Sorry if this is TMI but I saw concern in your question so thought a more thorough explanation might be warranted and useful. I wish you and your family well! Everyone has to decide what comfort level their family has with the situations and listen to each family member with respect.
