Am I correct in tninking that you can't make PS for Beaches and Cream? If so, when is a good time to visit and not have to wait too long?

You are correct - you cannot make PSs for Beaches and Cream. I would think that any "off time" not lunch or dinner time would be less crowded.

Well, we went at about 7pm one night. Just walked right in. It was great! It was also Feb (offseason).. after dinner we walked over to Epcot and got a great seat for Illuminations. We'd brought our shakes TOGO from B&C and enjoyed those while people watching. It was a great meal.. the staff is amazing!

Enjoy!

It is a VERY small place. Theere are about 12 spots at the counter (if that?) and about 6 to 8 tables that could seat 2-4 folks, then about 3 (maybe 4? Can't recall) large booths that can seat 6 (if some of you are small!) Bottom line -- how soon you sit can sometimes depend on your party size. A party of 4 or less has lots of options (counter, table, booth). But if your party is big, it'll be a wait and/or tight fit! We took 4 adults and 4 kids a few weeks ago. We tried to get in for lunch first -- yikes! Big line! SO we got smarter and tried on a different day for an early dinner (like 4:30). THis worked out well. As we were leaving, we could see the line beginning to form outside and more folks with pagers. I'd say best shot is between 2 and 4. Most of the folks in there at that time are there for ice cream only, so they leave a bit sooner than those who are doing a whole meal plus dessert.

In any case, it's well worth it -- very good food! -- and a real deal if you also use the Q&C vouchers. OUr bill for the 4 adults would have come to 82 bucks. WIth the vouchers, it was (11.50 * 4) or 46 bucks. That just makes it all taste even better!

How far away would the pager work if you had quite a long wait? I ask because we are staying at the Boardwalk. if we had to wait, say, an hour would the pager work over as far as the Boardwalk? or at least part way to it in case we were on our way back when they paged us?

I'm going to guess they use the same sort of pages as normal restaurants do. I worked at Outback through college and I can say if its anything like their pages you are lucky if it will work 50 - 60 yards away (100 if lucky). Ours bearly worked in the parking lot , and we really did have the good disc/coaster ones. GOOD LUCK!

There is an arcade next door to play at and rocking chairs and tables to relax at.

During the third week of May we walked in at 11:40 and got a booth. I think it got full at 12:30. We loved the burgers and No Way Jose!

Pagers: Well, I know it worked while I was in the lobby of the BC. The kids were watching the TV in there. HOWEVER -- here was the problem. WHen it detonates, you then have to get BACK TO THEIR DESK. If you take forever to do that, I would imagine they won't be too happy and may just move on to the next taker. It took me a while to hoof it through the lobby around Cape May to tell them "We're Here!" Wouldn't wanna be a no-show and lose my spot.

I'd stick close by.

We had the same situation as gopherit: we were way over in the BC lobby - in fact on the far side of the lobby admiring the chocolate carousel (it was New Years). We got the page fine, but boy it took us quite awhile to get back. In fact, it went off again before we got back. But they didn't give our table away and didn't seem like they had a problem with it taking us that long to get back.

My wife and I stayed at the BC the past two years in January and we only waited for a table once and that was about 12:15PM.

I guess it just depends on the time of year you go but as stated above I would recommend not going dead on prime times and you should be fine.

How crowded can I expect Beaches and Cream to be the week before the week of Thanksgiving (week of November 15 - a relatively low attendance time of year)? What if we showed up between 8:30 and 9:00 while everybody is either heading to or waiting for Illuminations?

we had a 10 min wait in slow Jan at around 11:45-12...the tables were full the whole time we were there but not a long line ever

Our party of five was seated immediately--at the counter--during the first week of august. It was about 7:30. Food and service were terrific!!

we went for a late lunch after check-in @ BCV on Aug. 1st. It was around 3:30pm. (they don`t take ps`s).
Very crowded! We had to wait. But it was worth it! Great chicken sandwichs & Burgers!
Enjoy!

From last year's report:

"The seating here is very limited, so I decided to count. The tally: three booths, seating four each (perhaps five or six but it would be a squeeze), five tables seating four each, one small table seating two, and fifteen counter stools. (No, they don’t spin around!) This gives a total of 49 seats."

We've had good luck with an early lunch, around 11:30. I suspect but don't know that mid-afternoon wouldn't be too bad. But unless you like crowds, don't even think about going there after Illuminations. Everyone else has the same idea.

I don't think I realised that; I think I'll do that instead of the Rose & Crown for our Epcot day, then. How do I get there from Epcot, please?

I just went to Deb's site, and it seems to indicate they only do lunch. Is that accurate???

Kris

Nope...they definitely do dinner. About walking distance...not for me at the end of a day. Friendship boat will drop you off right in front of the Beach Club pool area. B&C is behind the pool. We were there at 7:30 PM in early August. Though crowded, very efficient staff and the food was good.

What's the Friendship Boat? Boy, these boards are a source of never-ending information!

Thanks,

Kris

Edit: Oh, ok, the UOG says you can only get to Epcot from the Epcot resort by way of a boat at the International Gateway, that must be it...sounds nice.

they mean the boats that leave international gateway in epcot to the epcot resorts... you catch it right outside the park entrance however when we went in Jan( unless something is different in busier times) the drop off point was almost as far a walk as to epcot and took longer ( the boat since it went to Boardwalk first.) than it took us to walk back to epcot.. it took us under 10 mins to walk
