I don't have a picture, but I'm sure there's lots on flickr.com if you just search for it.
I wouldn't say the kitchen sink is known for being "outstanding" as far as taste (could be wrong on this!) It seems most people get it more for the uniqueness. And, yes, I think the sundae's are outstanding! The ice cream is just Edy's but they have some unique sundaes that you can't get other places on property. We love the atmosphere and the diner food there- I esp. love the onion rings!
It's Edy's like the pp said. But, seems like a fun thing for a family. I'm not sure I would like the toppings with the blend of ice cream flavors that are included...but it looks 'fun'.
Ghirardelli is great ice cream
The Dolphin Fountain inside the Dolphin resort next to the Beach Club also has delicious 'homemade' stuff as well.
Actually when you have the kitchen sink, you don't really taste much of the individual flavors, they kind of all mesh together into a big mush!!!! It's just a fun thing to do. After they are done preparing it and they are bringing it to your table some lights start flashing, sirens go off and they announce that the piggies will now be eating!!! We have done this three times now and each time it seemed to melt pretty fast leaving a lot of liquid. You'll see in the last picture, my nephew drinking the last of it. YES, THOROUGHLY DISGUSTING!!
You're 100% correct. It would really be nice if Disney upgraded the product served at Beaches and Cream and/or allowed an outside premium ice cream outfit into WDW. Having true super premium ice cream product available (high butterfat content, slow churned with low air content) would be the "cherry" on the still "uncompleted sundae" that is WDW. Or put differently, with all the other great food available on property, the lack of good ice cream is a glaring, striking oversight.
Click the link in my signature for the dining review and we have a full write up on Beaches & Cream with lots of photos, including the Milkey Way sundae and the No Way Jose sundae.
Put 'kitchen sink' in to 'You Tube' to see loads being made. It is fab! We're hoping to go this year for our DDs 5th BDay. Can't wait to see their faces!!
We LOVE the Kitchen Sink, we have been going every trip for years. We get it as our lunch. We actually really like the ice cream, maybe because we mostly buy generic ice cream at home (even though DH works for Friendlys.) Anyway, if you just do it for the fun, I still think it is worth it.
