OK- so I've been following the "my trip is not complete" thread, and everyone is mentioning Beaches and Cream as a "mut-do." Suddenly I feel way out of the loop since we've never been.

What is it about this place that makes it everyone's favorite? Is it the desserts? We would probably only go for lunch and don't often do dessert at lunch- would it still be a good choice for an Epcot day, for example? If you aren't staying at one of the Epcot resorts, is it still worth the trouble of leaving the parks? Or is it a dinner choice for most of you?

Why is this on everyone's "must do" list?

(Feel free to start gushing now)

Great burgers, onion rings, and ice cream. We like to go for lunch if we are in the area, but we don't go out of our way to eat there or anything.

We just ate there a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to try it because like you, I heard so many sing the praises of B&C.

Well, now I a fan too!! We ended up going one night around dinner. We drove over from CSR, but I think that if you are at Epcot, I would either walk over or take the boat. It was raining that particular night we went so that is why we drove.

Anyway, you can't make a PS for this restaurant so it is first come first served. This place is VERY SMALL, so not a lot of seating. When we arrived we asked the valet what the wait was at B&C, he made a call and said about 20 minutes. OK, fine. Well when I walked back to B&C and put our name in, it the girl said there were 5 people in front of us. We ended up waiting a LONG time for a table, maybe 45 min. to an hour, so I kept thinking that this place better be worth it.

We all had the burgers, and we also had onion rings. The burgers were the best we had anywhere at WDW, they were really good, the onion rings were great too. We were too full to order desert, but they looked awsome too.

So, my recommendation is yes, go to B&C, just remember you may have a long wait.

We put B&C on our must-do list for two major reasons- burgers and ice cream!

It has a fun atmosphere, but as Mercy pointed out, it is small- so it can feel very crowded a lot of the time. But they serve the best burger in WDW, and they have great sundaes. DW and I have pretty much settled on the No Way Jose; it's a huge sundae with hot fudge and peanut butter sauce. We split one and are usually struggling by the end.

We own at the DVC at the BCV, and if we aren't staying there going to B&C is a great way to stop in on our "home" and visit with Art the famous doorman.

Great food some fun while you eat and ice cream for the kids a good stop:p :p

My DDs would eat there everyday if they could. Last Christmas vacation we ate there 4 times. Caesar salad is great and the chile isn't bad either. Last June we flew into Orlando a day before our cruise and guess where we HAD to go for lunch? you betcha!
B & C. I tried the prime rib sandwich this time. It was awesome. The No way Jose is a favorite with the DDs:crazy:

We are going to give it another try after a not so impressive first trip there.

We stopped in one night just for ice cream and it was mobbed. We ended up getting take out in a loooong line. We tried to eat at the tables outside but they were filfthy! The trash cans were full, just didn't look clean. But it was later in the evening and we are going to give it the benefit of the doubt and try it again next trip as we plan to stay at YC.

What is the best way to get to Beaches and Cream from POFQ? We won't have a car with us. I'm getting the impression it is in the Epcot area, and we will be going to Epcot on a couple of the days we're there. Would it be easier going from Epcot and what route would you recommend? Thank you for any help!

The big Beaches & Cream draw for us ?????

My son actually has a picture of it hanging up in his room!!He cannot wait for this special treat :teeth:

Beaches and Cream is awesome!!!

The food is very good, greasy and filling. The milkshakes and ice cream is heavenly. I always get the Mickey Mouse sundae with 2 oreo cookies for "ears"-soooo good. It's just a cute, quaint place.
We always try and go during mid afternoon to beat the lunch and dinner rush because the restaurant is TINY, but cozy.:)

We LOVE B&C!!!!

Beaches & Cream is at the Beach Club. Best way to get there from POFQ is to take the bus to MGM and then take the launch to the Yacht & Beach Clubs. There is a map of that property at the entrance to the boat launch, I believe, if not, it is nearby.

We had take-out frappes there on our last trip. My DD wants to go back to sit down and have a meal this trip. So, we have scheduled it in.

It's always packed so be prepared to wait (and maybe wait some more...). But, you'll love it!

we haven't tried this restaurant yet, but there was an entire show "Great Hotels" on Travel channel devoted to the YC or BC, can't remember which. They profiled B&C and their Kitchen Sink sundae. Maybe that explains the popularity!?

The Hot Dogs are good too! But our trip wouldn't be complete if we didn't stop in for a NO WAY JOSE sundae - it's the best!!!! Last year my DH and I had a late lunch there our last day - we split a double burger with onion rings and topped it off by sharing a NO WAY JOSE. It was plenty to eat for us and they were very accommodating. My advice - don't go right at dinner time and don't go right after Illuminations lets out.

Whatever you do - - ENJOY !!

Thanks for your help with the directions, jay-nee! After reading all this praise, I knew I had to find a way to get there! :teeth:

DW and I had a No Way Jose last trip and it was awesome::yes::

It's really easy to get a seat for a late lunch/early dinner around 3 or 4 o'clock. We love B&C and make it a priority to eat there at least once during every trip.

Last year a young couple and their young child came in and ordered the Kitchen Sink. We loved the presentation, and I asked if they wanted me to film it with their video camera for them! I don't think they finished, but they had a good time trying.
