Oh wow, we will definitely get there a few minutes early then, how fun this must have been! I just have to try a No Way Jose with DH, we LOVE chocolate and peanut butter together! We definitely have to share this thing! The boys would also love it there.

Is this where the kitchen Sink Ice Cream is? And this is at a resort isn't it? Which one? Sorry for the dumb questions...this is our first trip!

Yes- it is the home of the kitchen sink.

Its at the Beach Club resort. But also walking distance from Epcot if you aren't staying close.

There's no such thing as dumb questions!

Thanks Pink Mouse Ears! I think the family would think this is an awesome lunch.

One last question...ok, I am sure there will be more but, is it hard to get into? Is there a long wait?

Beaches and Cream is located on a walkway between the Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts, just behind the large Stormalong Bay pool area. The waits will depend on how many others have decided they want to eat there. Your typical lunch and dinner rush hours will have longish waits.

We got there a few minutes early and grabbed a table outside of the restaurant. The kids enjoyed watching Storm Along Bay while we waited. We were first seated, and had a fantastic time.

Sounds perfect! My boys eat lunch at 11AM at their school, and at home on weekends and during school breaks they eat anywhere between 11AM and 1PM (whenever they get hungry, also depends on when they woke up and had breakfast!), so getting there a few minutes before 11AM sounds great! Can't wait for the ice cream there!

What is the family of the day thing? I have heard this term used in several different posts.

It is different depending on where you are "Family of the Day." At the MK park, the Family of the Day participates in the opening ceremony. At Beaches and Cream, we walked in and were greeted by the waitstaff cheering and the lights flashing (they have a spinning light they use for when someone orders the Kitchen Sink...it was going.) We were seated at the middle booth, which had a table cloth and cloth napkins...other tables have paper napkins and no table cloth. The table was covered in confetti and small toys (like party favors.) It was a small honor, but truly made our day!!

I think we arrived about 10:45.

I can't promise this is always done for the first guest, but its always worth a shot! It filled up quickly- I'd say the restaurant was full by 11:45 or so.

I've never heard of Family of the Day at Beaches and Cream. It could be something new though. We went in March of 2008 and there was nobody given a Family of the Day honor the entire time that we were there. (We were the first family in so we would have seen them ;) :))

Maybe they started this recently with the "What will you Celebrate" theme? :confused3 It could have also been a one time thing too.

Thanks, I am making a note to be there EARLY! It would be great if they did ADRs.

They don't do adrs because how small the place is..It only has a few tables and some counter seating.Waits are usually not too bad at opening.Waits at meal times and when illuminations lets out can reach over an hour

That's what I've heard...I've read reports that there are maybe 15 tables in the whole place. Can you imagine if they took ADRs? It would be 100 times harder than getting an ADR for Le Cellier! :rotfl:

We figure if we get there a few minutes before opening, we will definitely sit down by 12:00.

I think they need to expand this place...We usually stay at the BC and the lines can get ridiculous for this place.I remember the first time I saw how small it was.Dh says " no wonder they don't accept adrs"

i think it was me who said they had around 15 tables but after looking at my pics i think theres even less.
there were some booths along one wall-about 3/4 booths. each booth was for 4 adults but you could squeeze more in. we sat on a small table that was for 4, think there were only around 4 more of these. then theres seating at the counter-probably for around 10 people.
