We would really like to go for icecreams one night after dinner in our villa (offsite) can someone answer these questions for me?

First off is this the best place to go?? If so...

Where is the best place to park? Can I park in the hotel for the free 3 hours without an actual ADR?

Does it get busy? If we end up getting our sundaes to go are there nice places to sit and eat?

Can I walk to the boardwalk from there?

Thanks!

Yes, it is the best place to go. Yes you can park at BC, YC or Boardwalk. Yes, it's always busy. You can not make ADRs. You can get sundaes to go and sit outside by the amazing pool area or walk around the lake past the YC, Swan Dolphin, Boardwalk and back toward the BC. Or, catch a movie on the beach at BC, watch a street magician near Boardwalk, rent a surrey bike and ride around lake...

I suggest getting the kitchen sink. then take the walk.

Ghirardelli's has ice cream (Downtown Disney's Marketplace side) and is quite nice too.

There is a little Sweets shop on the boardwalk that has ice cream too, but not nearly as elaborate as Beaches and Cream or Ghirardelli's.

Beaches and Cream is a fun place to go. It's tricky to find, even though you know it's at the Beach Club. You have to enter the BC, walk along the hallway that borders Cape May, exit, walk along the outside of the resort and then come to Beaches and Cream. All that because the pool is fenced in/out to protect against marauders. ;)

You could make a nice evening of it, after dinner. Have dessert and then do the circle of resorts, or simply walk from the BC to the boardwalk. You'll be able to see some of Illuminations from there too.

Thanks for both of your replies :goodvibes You have firmly placed beaches and cream on our itenerary! Sounds lovely - I hadn't even thought about being able to see the fireworks - how lovely :) Thank you for your help!

Just wondering, what time do they close? We were planning on going there after our Illuminations cruise to get the kitchen sink.

B&C is a very small place and often generates waits. They close at 11-1130pm.After Illuminations lets out and at traditional meal times, it is not unusal to see waits of up to an hour for a table. There is a to go window, BUT they do not have food, or their 'siganture" desserts( like the Kitchen Sink or the No way Jose). They have shakes, sodas and ice cream bars at the To go window

It will be very busy after your Illuminations Cruise. It is popular after Illuminations. As a PP said, you may have a wait of over an hour for a table.

Thank you for your responses. We will just play it by ear since we have a six year old whose bedtime is usually pretty early. He may be wiped out by then.

Do they make their own ice cream? I love the brownie sundae at Ghiradelli's so it is hard to imagine something even better but I am willing to give it a try :)

I'm pretty sure they use Edy's brand ice cream. If the place is crowded, The Fountain at the Dolphin is usually easier to get into. I haven't tried their ice cream sundaes, but they have excellent burgers. :thumbsup2

thanks! We have been looking for a reason to wonder into the Dolphin.

Nope..it is plain old Edys Ice Cream you can buy in the freezer case at home.It is good, but I would never wait longer than a few minutes for a table

Thanks as this is good to know. If we can get a table we'll try it but if not we will try the Dolphin or stick with DTD.

I'm going to assume that because after the show you have to go back to the dock and get off the boat that you may be behind the crowd.

Its very possible that during a even just medium crowd level day that they will say there are no more tables left for the night.

Obviously we are talking about Illuminations here (not planning on taking them back to say the Poly ;)) but if you have never seen the show there are very few high fireworks since much of the show is on the water. So its not a great view.
