I want to take my girls there and pig out on the kitchen sink!! popcorn::

Do I need to make a reservation to get at table there? Can I order it and take it somewhere else, like out to a bench on the boardwalk?

TIA!

ETA - Do they have the mini one too?? Truth be told, my girls like ice cream, but I'm not a big fan, plus I don't need any tummy aches on my hands!!! :)

You can not order the Kitchen Sink "to go". I would try for a reservation but if you can't get one, try to go when they first open or mid afternoon trying to avoid the lunch rush.

If you would like the order the "Mickey Pants Sink" that can be ordered at the to go window which does not require a reservation. We are going to get one of these on Saturday:cool1: and eat it at Stormalong Bay.

I have been delaying the Kitchen Sink for a couple of trips because we haven't spent much time in that general resort area and my wife is also not an ice cream fan. But we're staying at Beach Club this summer, and if I do nothing else while we're there, I plan to take my girls (and wife if she cares to join us for help in eating the toppings, at least!) and tackle this thing.

Knowing me as I know me, however, I will also get the new, smaller version at some point during the trip, so I'm glad to hear it's available at the to-go window. I wish some of the other slightly smaller (relative to the bigger kitchen sink) ice cream options were also available at the to-go window (No Way Jose, grilled banana bread sundae, etc.). Seems like that is what so many people go there for anyway...they'd make a killing from the to-go window alone and could possibly make the wait and/or ADRs a little easier for those who want to eat a legitimate meal.

No takeout on the kitchen sink. You can only get that inside the restaurant.

Can you eat the mickey pants (never thought I'd say that...) in the restaurant, or is it only take out. I managed to get an ADR!

My understanding is that the mini kitchen sink is available both in restaurant and to go. The larger original kitchen sink is only available in the restaurant.

Thank you! Still haven't decided what I'm going to do that day - Go with the big one, or the little... I would really like to have all of us share an appetizer or something, and then get the smaller one, but they don't seem to have appetizers! And my daughter doesn't eat meat, so ordering something that all 3 of us will eat together isn't easy anymore!

Thanks again!

We usually split a couple entrees...they are really nice there - I always mention that we are ordering a kitchen sink for dessert too - and separate them in the kitchen. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque combo is good!

Just wanted to remind everyone that the mini kitchen sink is available in MK at the Plaza/Main St ice cream parlor.

I was thinking of splitting the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup, but were going in August - Not really soup weather! Then I was thinking the falafel... I know I would enjoy it, but kinda doubt my kids would eat much of it! Thanks again everyone!

According to the menu on allears some of the sundaes are available at the to go window:

And here's a photo of the No Way Jose from the to go window (scroll down to the last photo). The presentation looks different than the one from inside Beaches & Cream:

I also noticed on the Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop menu at Downtown Disney they have something called the Earthquake Family Favorite that by description sounds as huge and intense (possibly even more so) than the kitchen sink. Has anyone had experience with that particular dessert? :goodvibes

You will need an ADR regardless. This place was tough to get in before they took ADR's and now that they do, you will need one and yes if you have one and all you order is the Kitchen Sink thats OK too. But no you can not take it to go, although i would like to see someone try to carry that around with them

Its so much fun we do it every trip, there are 3 of us well me and DW and DD (7) so i dont have much help with it but we do pretty good with it.

1) WOW !!!
2) I have NEVER seen two people polish off The Sink.
3) I have seen drinkers with a "hollow leg", but ice creamers with a "hollow tummy"?
4) The question waiting to be asked is, "Which is first, Brain Freeze or Tummy Freeze?"

For comparison's sake:

The Ghirardelli Earhtquake: http://youtu.be/fUmNqsP4CyE
The Kitchen Sink: http://youtu.be/nzPaJJARCJc

The earthquake looks like an admirable and easier to get option. I'm still looking forward to tackling the sink though. It has taunted me for years!

That would be quite a feat if we were just a couple but we are a family of five. :)
