The plan is buy 175 points at either BCV or Wilderness and then buy 175 add-on at AKV. This way there is 350 points to be used - alternating stays during the holidays each year.

Not sure - which is easier to book BCV or Wilderness during the 7 month window if want Christmas?

They are both hard to book for Christmas, but VWL is next to impossible. So, if you want to stay at VWL for X-Mas you need to buy there.

We booked a studio at VWL for Christmas at the 7 month window with no problem. We then moved up to a 1 bedroom in OCTOBER, again with NO problem. We must have gotten very lucky, but it was pretty effortless.

I have 70 BCV, 50 WL, and as of today, 100 AKV.
Of course, I had to originally buy resale to get the initial 70.
I like the idea that I can use BCV for Food and Wine, WL every 3 years in December, and AKV when the mood strikes. Nice to have 11 month advantage at all 3. I also like to split stays on week or 10 day trips.
Good luck. I like your choice of resorts:thumbsup2

While you can get lucky booking either VWL or BCV at the 7 month window for Christmas, I'd say that the majority feeling is that VWL is more difficult since it is a smaller resort and a strong holiday destination point since it is themed so well for Christmas.

Having said that, I think in your case I'd lean towards BCV. To me, VWL and AKV are somewhat similar in style and I'd look for more contrast in my alternating vacations. We own at VWL and BWV and really enjoy how different they are yet each wonderful in its own way. By alternating locations for our vacations, we don't have to worry about "resort burn out" (yeah, like that could happen! ).

You can't go wrong, but I thought I'd toss that idea out there. Good luck! :)

Is that it's by MK (good for 5 year old son) and its available now which should then get me in quick at AKV. But, BCV I was told there is a long wait and if I went there at Christmas it may not be warm enough to swim if you catch a bad week defeating the whole theme there. I figure it would make a good off season destination (early summer) and I could then get in easier at 7months. Who knows.

In my experience BCV is difficult, but with waitlisting not impossible, to get at Christmas. On the other hand VWL is impossible even with the waitlist at Christmas.

If you see yourself wanting to visit VWL over Christmas then that is where you should buy.
