Going to be there in Nov/Dec of 2005 @ WDW for 8 nights. Have 7 and 2 years old daughters and would like to take them to the beach if weather permits during one of the "off days" from the park. No swimming, just walking along the sand for an hour or so.

Which beach would you recommend for family on the Atlantic side, close to Orlando.

Thanks!

I'm don't live in Florida, so perhaps a 'native' would know better...

...I'm just answering based on past experience. I think your best bet is Cocoa Beach, which is about a 2-hour drive east. We did that a few years ago... keep in mind, the water IS cold...especially in January!

WL to Cocoa beach is only an hour and 5-10 min away. There is plenty of beach access, restaurants are family friendly, and last year the water was warm enough in December to go wading. If you go on a thurs, sat., or sun., go to port canaveral (you pass it on the way to the beach) to Grills Seafood Deck (www.sunrisemarina.com click grills) and watch the Disney Wonder or Magic leave port. Carnival ships normally leave around 430pm with disney following around 5.
