Hi everyone,

We're taking our 7 month old little boy :lovestruc:lovestruc to Disney for the first time on the 16th, so excited!! We're not staying on site this time as we want a full kitchen and washer and dryer -- and a Disney room with both of these is out of our price range -- so we thought we would have a beach day, any recommendations for a beach that can be done as a day trip??? Thanks in advance!

I agree with PP. Go west, the water is calm and clear. The east coast is very rough.

we are taking a day to go to the beach too and we are going to clearwater, so much prettier than daytona.

I also agree with the Clearwater Beach area, and its definitely doable in a day if you plan to start out early. Its absolutely beautiful and quiet when we've been there (although we stay in Indian Shores, just south of CB). The east coast just feels dirtier the 2 times we've visited recently. Its just not as beautiful imho!
Good luck and have fun. My boys have LOVED CB!! :thumbsup2

Also for a 7 month old, please have a "tent" or big umbrella. He is far too young to be sitting in the son all day long without a shady area available to him.

Gulf side will definitely be much calmer.

No worries about the sun... I'm such an overprotective mommy its not funny... I don't think he'll even know that the sun is out :goodvibes

We've never been to the beach in Florida and thought it might be a nice break from the parks and a relaxing day for our little man!

ps: CONGRATULATIONS!!

:lmao:

Thanks...

Just thought I'd mention it....my kids are older now--so the umbrella is more for me anyway.

Another thing we did when ours were little was to get one of those cheap blow up kiddie pools. Fill that w/some water, place under the umbrella and it makes a very convenient splash pool. Actually my kids still enjoy playing in a bigger one w/their 2 yr old niece. They don't have to worry about waves when they just want to play quietly but it keeps them cooler.

Okay so I started to look into Clearwater, can anyone recommend a specific spot on the beach that they visit??
