I think I've read that there are towels onboard for use at the pools and on CC...but what about the other ports? Should we pack our own or can we take the DCL towels with us?? DS and I are doing the stingray excursion in Nassau. Beach towels take up so much luggage space that I don't want to take them if I don't have to. Thanks so much!! :sunny:

Good question. I want to know as well for beach excursion at Nassau

Sometimes DCL supplies towels outside the ship for your use (definately they do on CC but at other ports it is touch and go). You can definately go up to Deck 9 yourself and help yourself to the towels that are in the teak bins to bring with you. Just make sure to bring them back to the ship.

If you are on a DCL sponsored excursion towels will be provided for you at your excursion meeting place onboard, usually one of the lounges or theatres.

But note...DCL towels are very small, I like a full sized beach towel so I usually buy one from the store onboard...they have many different styles and designs and run about $22. each.

I wonder why it is touch and go.

We never had a problem on our cruises. Walk out...grab towels...when we return, throw them back in the bin.

I thought it would be an issue with 1 per person....but we took what we needed...and since they were so small it was usually 6 or 7 for a family of 4.

Touch and go as in they sometimes have them readily available at some ports, but not always. I have cruised DCL 13 times and only sometimes saw towels bins put out at ports other than CC.

Again, if you are on a DCL excursion....towels will be available at your meeting place.

Also if you are a returning cruiser remember that you will get your Castaway Club beach towel as well!

We normally bring one CC Beach Towel and take the new one so we only have to pack one!

DCL provided towels for our beach excursion. I think they also provided towels for ou snorkeling excursion.

These were DCL sponsored excursions...or excursions you booked on your own? DCL definately provides towels if you are on one of their excursions, but the confusion lies in whether they they have towel bins outside the ship in every port....and I do not remember seeing this on a regular basis other than at Castaway Cay. I have seen towel bins at some ports, but not always.

Our tours were Disney organized shore excursions and the towels were handed out at the meeting place.

Thanks everyone!! Our stingray excursion is the one sponsored by DCL so it seems we'll be fine not bringing our towels. We leave for Orlando in 16 days...start our cruise in 19 days!!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Have a GREAT crusie and please post about your Singray excursion when you return. I have snorkeled with Stingrays in their natural habitat in Tahiti and it has been the highlight of my 2 Tahitian cruises. They are awsome creatures.
