We are planning our 1st WDW trip in Aug. Someone suggested to wrap water bottles in beach towels and put them in our backpacks to help keep them cool. I was thinking of picking up a couple of those quick dry towels. Would they work for this?

Also, we'll be hitting the water parks in the afternoons. Do we bring extra beach towels for this, use the travel towels (I was going to get small ones) or take towels from the on site resort?

I've really enjoyed reading your forums and have collected lots of useful info. Thanks in advance.

hi flyingteepee -

Congrats on your first trip to WDW - you will love it!!

Last time we went we took our own beach towels to Blizzard Beach. Much nicer to have a large towel and we ended up using them at the pools at our resorts as well.

We usually freeze a water bottle or two and throw them in our backpack when we go to the parks. Wrap the bottles with a few paper towels and they will stay dry in the pack. Also, we put them into a large ziplock baggie in case they do end up dripping excess amounts of condensation.

Have a great trip!!

We bring our own beach towels. I like the bigger size. I believe towels at the waterparks are for rent. So you must bring your own towels or rent the rather small towels at the parks. WDW resorts have towels available poolside but they are supposed to be used at the pool and not taken for use elsewhere but some folks do. I like my own beach towel, covers my "nana-like" body better. LOL
Have a great trip.
