Beach towels at waterparks?

I have bought some of the nice Disney towels at the Disney Store....but wandering how 'safe' it is to take them to the waterparks...and 'leave' them on our chairs while we off playing? My 14yr DD got a Tink towel and recently took it to a local waterpark....and wouldn't you know it, it was stolen!
I'd like to think that people are honest...especially at WDW...but I do realize that kids will be kids...and if they're at WDW and don't have a Disney towel...and see one laying around - that they might like one? I'm now rethinking about taking ours to the waterparks, just keeping them for the pool area. Any thoughts, experiences, suggestions?

We always take some of our older more worn towels. If they should get stolen, we won't care and they're not near as fluffy as new ones and don't take up as much room in the suitcases. We've never had a towel stolen, but I have heard of others getting new WDW towels taken.

Thanks...that's what I thought. Think we will avoid taking them to the waterparks.

Lots of people buy the "waterpark" towels from the waterparks and leave them when they swim. I doubt someone would steal them, but you will be safe to leave your Disney Store towels at home, for safe keeping.

The towels at WDW are better quality than the DS. DCL's are quite plush.

"Buy" towels at waterparks? I thought that only rental towels were available. How much to buy...and how big? Beach size?

You can rent Disney bath towels for $1. To buy a Disney towel will run about $20. We bought a Disney princess towel for a friend and saw 12 others with the same towel.

We take our own beach towels. They are not disney-- but they are nicer. We like more than a dish towel to dry up with. Anyhow, if nothing else Walmart usually has a selection for under $5.00. Not the greatest, but they're okay.

I would agree that if it will ruin your trip if it were to be taken, to not take it. Or if it has senitmental value and such. There is a risk of such things.

We were at Typhoon Lagoon last week. We left our towels, bag, etc. on a chair and only came back to it before we ate lunch. Noone touched a thing.
