Two ladies in their 60's want to visit Epcot for 2 days. One needs a scooter. Which hotel would be the best? Also which rooms would be good? Is water view worth it? Many thanks. Have a great disney day :earsgirl:

Both are nice-
Beach Club is closer to epcot and boardwalk. Never stayed in a waterview room- always requested room near quiet pool (std) and had great rooms! I do not think waterview is worth extra $$- not in room enough.
Have fun which ever you choose- GREAT RESORT!!!

Thanks for the input. Do you request a balcony? Also how far is it to the Yacht club from the Beach Club. Does the beach club have double sinks/ thanks:earsgirl:

Both are awesome ~ personnally, I like the BC better because I like the lighter Pastelly colors as oppossed to the darker decor of YC but I've stayed at Both and they're both wonderful;)

Once thing worth noting though, if you want a balcony, all rooms at the YC come with one ~ BC it's hit and miss ~ so be sure to request one if you choose BC if that's important to you as many of the rooms at BC have a standing room only balcony (just a platform ~ enough for one person to stand on, no chair).

HTH's:wave:

We stayed a the BC and had a water view with a balcony. As Scoootch said the Balcony was very small. No room to sit, just standing room only. The water view was not worth the extra $$. We were on the water side but could barely see the water. We saw mostly the rooms on the other side.

I hope the scooter has a strong battery and good brakes!
It is a serious uphill to Epcot, and a serious downhill on the way back. No problem for able-bodied folk, but a possible concern for those with mobility issues.

OK let's see.............We stayed at the BC in 2000; our daughter and grandsons stayed at the YC........They preferred our room and decor...We were on the first floor, can't remember the room #; but it was a quick jaunt out the door to the quiet pool (great location IMHO)...........But more important is my reply to the scooter issue.........My hubby has a scooter every time we go; and the BC location was superb - no problem to and from EPCOT.... Enjoy yourselves..............

just a side note --
you don't have to go up and down the hill to epcot -- if you walk along the waterway it's flat :)

But then you have to either use stairs or go up/down ramps. You can't avoid the fact that the International Gate is higher elevation than BC! It is likely though that the ramps are somewhat less steep than the hill.

I don't remember there being stairs or a ramp to take the Troll way (kids name for-under the bridge walkway) to Epcot??

Could just be I don't notice anymore.

Thanks for all the info. I will reserve the Beach Club. Any particular floor that is better for standard view.

As highest floor you can get facing Epcot.

I may be losing my mind... Trying to remember...
I think now it is right that you can avoid most or all of the hill using the canal-side path as rahwest suggested. I think at the boat dock that you do have to descend somewhat to board the boat. But not the Troll-way; you're right no stairs or ramp for that.

i know there are no stairs -- we were using strollers :) te he he :)

that was part of why we always took that way -- easier to push :) ha ha ha :)
:p
