So we are having a difficult time deciding whether we want to go to the beach or go to Disney. We plan on vacationing in May. My son turns 4 in May. My daughter will be 17 months old at the time. My son HATED the beach when he was 2 and I was pregnant, so we ended up driving to Disney World back in 2007. It was totally unplanned and spontaneous. However, it seemed to go well.

Now my son is older and would do fine at the beach. We went on a short mini beach vacation last year (2010) and he loved the sand, but still a little afraid of the water. My daughter hated the sand but she was only like 6 months old, lol.
I don't know what to do now. My son wants to do both. I kind of want to do both. However, I don't know how to accomplish that and get my money's worth of 5-6 day tickets to WDW. Our vacation/travel days will be from Saturday to Saturday. We are coming from Atlanta. Any ideas?

They are such different trips that it is hard to compare. We are less than 4 hours from Myrtle Beach so we go there often. WDW is special. I really think WDW is less work. At the beach you have to keep them entertained! Beach is cool but you have to work to enjoy it with little ones. Play in the sand, water etc. EVERYTHING cost extra. You have to drive to dinner etc.

At WDW the entertainment is built in. Bus service provided, and no sand to keep out of diapers!!!!!

Thing is a week at the beach ends up costing about as much as WDW, especially if you can get free dining.

We have this same discussion in my family every time a vacation is brought up. Only ours is between Disney and a cruise. I love cruising, been on 15 or so. Our dd's are 7 and 3 now. My dh always says, "the Caribbean will always be there but the magic will not." I think that's a good way to look at it. The kiddos aren't always going to "believe" so we want to get all we can while the magic is in their eyes. :goodvibes Enjoy planning, that's half the fun!

Thanks, I am pretty sure we decided on Disney because after I wrote the post I received a pin code! LOL.
