Now that the season is upon us, what are your suggestions for beach etiquette?

I'll start with don't park your blanket on top of me. There are miles and miles of sand.

If you do park your blanket on top of me, don't blast your music so that the entire coast has to listen to your music.

When you get up to leave the beach, please make sure that you check the wind and wave the sand of your blanket and your kids towels accordingly.

I hate when kids run around and the parents don't care and they are spitting sand up all over you. And when people get up and wave their towels getting sand on you! :)

Have a great beach day!

Don't throw your cigarette butts in the sand or any other trash for that matter. Plastic is especially dangerous for all of those wonderful critters in the ocean.

If it's windy don't use an umbrella, they fly away in the wind and can be dangerous.

When the kids are digging in the sand please watch where they are throwing it.

If you listen to music you would not want your children or grandmother listening to, please do not blare it so that we all have to listen.

Please wear a swimsuit that covers your "private" parts.

PLEASE , PLEASE, PLEASE put sunscreen on your children, esp. babies.

Men, women do not appreciate being howled and whistled at when they are just trying to enjoy a day at the beach.

Please do not leave trash on the beach, especially plastic and glass.

Please take care not to step in /on children's sandcastles.

If you actually look good in your bathing suit, please stay as far away from me as possible - I won't stand up to the comparison!

Don't feed the seagulls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you absolutely must feed seagulls please wait until evening when there are no bathers on the beach for them to use as target practice;) .

Absolutely NO thongs!! I know that most men may not agree w/ me on this one but I don't feel it should allowed in such a family enviroment.

Thankfully So Cal beaches are becoming "smoke free" enviroments. :)

Please do not show your signifcant other how much you love them by playing "stack the beach goers" right there on your towel.... Its embarassing to watch and I don't need to launch into a explanation to my 8 year old.

Please do not set up camp RIGHT next to me if there are miles of unoccupied sand. It's just plain weird, like standing backwards in an elevator.

Take your trash when you leave. The beaches by us do NOT have maid service.

I thought of another one. Please don't let your kids play under the fresh water faucets. If they want to get wet, send them to the ocean and leave the faucets for people who want to wash off the sand and go home! :D

For those beaches that still allow vehicles on them, watch out for people on foot. Also, think twice about wearing thongs (men this applies to you too) and speedos. I can not be held responsible for the very loud and embarrasing comments that my DD(5) will make about you. (We do try to teach her manners, but since she started school she just blurts the most horrible things out).

If you don't have the body for that bathing suit, don't wear it. (applies to both gals and guys)

Are you saying what I think you're saying?!?!

Don't step on my towel with sandy feet! I have to use that to dry off with later. :teeth:

just peek at sexy women, dont sit and gauk, no matter how bad you want to :hyper:

People who toss their butts in the sand -- that is just disgusting.

Yeah, bring a beach chair will ya?!? ;)

All Right so most of you have covered pretty much everything....
But I must say that it really Bothers me when people Change thier Children out of thier Bathing suit in front everyone. Like using the towel Method really makes a difference.
Give your Child SOME dignity!! I mean really thier are some sickooooooooos out there!!!
Other then that Put your FEET in the Sand and Enjoy the Waves!!! \
