I'm just getting ready to book next years holiday and I think we have decided on the beach club, choices are limited as they're are 5 of us. Beach club works out a better deal than 2 rooms at a value as we will get the ddp free.

Any opinions on the beach club, good and bad.

Stayed at the YC (next door) we had to visit the BC for the Marketplace and Cape May, TBH found it loud in the foyer compared to the YC (can't comment about the rooms) but they both share SAB which is just fabulous and the location is tops also.

BC is a great location for you to be with kids the ages they are :)

Claire ;)

I'd love to stay at the BC! It looks gorgeous!

I know the POR also have 5 person rooms, which confusingly appear to not be available on the UK site but are still on the US site - might be worth a look on there in case it works out any cheaper for you?

But the way the US site prices have been lately, you'll probably work out cheaper to stay at the BC, lucky thing!!

The Beach Club is my favorite Deluxe resort. Its decor and proximity to Epcot are so appealing to me. POR is my favorite Moderate resort.

i prefer the decor at the yacht club, and i believe that all rooms at the YC have balconies (while not all at the BC do)..
but other than that, they are identical and share the same wonderful pool...

we love the pool there - called stormalong bay....we spent hours just at the pool...

AH, do you need to request a balcony and pay for it or is it just the luck of the draw.
Maybe I'll book the YC instead.

Decisions decisions:confused3:confused3

Thanks for everyone elses comments

I think balconys are luck of the draw, but for a family of 5 I am not sure if all standard rooms at YC can take this many, I think you need to request a room with a daybed.

Claire ;)

good point - i don't know either...we're only 4 so i never paid attention..

i do know there are rooms that are bigger than others....

i don't know how that works at the YC and BC...

Just had a look on virgins site and they aren't giving me the option of YC

Yes some do have a daybed in lieu of the extra chair and then the table and chairs is moved there for the daybed to take its place.

Best bet is to make sure they note the request of a balcony at the BC. I must say for children the BC decor is more fun :)

that's probably true....
the BC is a bit more down to earth....
the YC more reserved...

if you're only getting BC as an option, then go with BC....you won't be disappointed....we stayed there several times as well...
it really makes no difference as the important thing is that pool....
(i mean, how much time would you spend out on the balcony anyway?...we probably went out on ours for a few moments total)..

stay at the BC.... you're going to love it!!

Just for info incase anyone needed to know - they have changed POR to 4 person rooms - I know they are honouring bookings that have already been made, but are gradually fazing it out - are the prices up for next year now on the US site??, as I was under the impression that they would only show as 4 person rooms from 2010??:confused3

we are going to BC for 2 nights next Christmas, I ummed and aahed about changing it as if the weather isn't great then we won't really get the benefit of SAB, but the lure of Beaches n Cream, Cape May breakfast and walking to Epcot swung it for us!!!:goodvibes

I'm sure you will have a fantastic time!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Were thinking of the Beach Club next year for our disneymoon :cloud9: I love the look of the resort - and all the rooms have been refurbished too :) They have just started refubishment on the Yacht Club rooms :thumbsup2

We stayed at the BC last year and loved the location, our balcony overlooked Epcot and we had a fab view of the fireworks. The pool is fantastic there, the only problem with it was it was a nightmare trying to get a sunlounger. The only thing we didn't like about the BC was the food options there, Beaches and Cream was always so busy we could never get in and Hannahs Hurricane Grill had a very small selection of food.

we love the beach club
stayed there with the five of us in one room , no problem
had a balcony was only big enought to air out the shoes , more like a window with a door

remeber if the food opitions at BC club the boardway is just a walk away

Well got the price, £5600, thats for 14 day tickets with free ddp flying from gatwick for the 5 of us.

They are holding it until tonight, so hopefully I'll phone back later and book it
