Beach Club vs. Yacht Club

We have an upcoming trip in Sept. and we're debating between staying at Beach Club or Yacht Club. We'd really like to have a balcony, but we'd also like to be pretty close to food/pool/transportation.

Which resort do you prefer and why? TIA for any info.

Stayed at both, like both. They are essentially 2 halves on one big resort -- with shared amenities, like pools and fitness center.

The pool is in the middle. They share restaurants. They have their own bus stops. YC is closer to the ferry boat dock (and DHS) and BC is a shorter walk to Epcot. But the buildings are attached to one another -- so I don't find one more convenient than the other.

YC has full balconies, BC it's more by request. The room decor is a bit different, although the rooms are basically the same.

YC has a more elegant (and much quieter lobby). BC has the big buffet downstairs (hence the more crowded and noisier lobby mornings and evenings). I'm happy at either one -- I tend to choose based on which one has a discount available or the room category I want available.

If you go on the YC/BC thread, you will find that people have definite preferences, but it's based more on decor -- there are lots of photos in the beginning that might help you decide. But don't worry too much -- they are both great and I would be happy to stay at either one again. The likelihood of a full balcony pulls me over to the YC side most of the time.

Hope this helps!

Bc feels more like a vacation to us.. But yes, they're essentially the same place

As others have already noted it's just basically two sides of the same coin. We enjoy them both but tend to favor the Beach Club.:wizard:

We picked the Beach Club as that felt more "vacation" to us. My husband and I travel a lot for work, and the Yacht Club seems more formal and business like. I would like to have a balcony, so I was more open to the Yacht Club, but my husband wouldn't have it.

The room layouts are basically the same, and the resorts share amenities. Both are excellent choices and it comes down to personal preference.

We liked the Beach Club. Closer to Epcot (where we spent the majority of our time), closer to the Marketplace which is the only QS option in either resort, and was reasonably close to the quiet pool where we spent most of our water time. (no kids so SAB was not a priority). We were right above the lobby. It was a fairly close walk to the sit down resturant in YC (Captains Table?), walk to bus or boat were also reasonable.

I did look at the YC and I do think it would be a quieter lobby but since that's not a big deal to me, I'd stick to BC.
