I haven't heard much about this resort.

I just tried to book a land sea for feb and was told no rooms at the Poly....my first choice.

Any input on the difference....worth may upgrading to concierge room at the Poly.

Our absolute favorite is the Beach Club - followed by the Poly. For us it's because of how much we love EPCOT, and the pool.

We just returned from a trip to the Yacht Club and reaffirmed our love for the EPCOT resorts location.

Last month we did a split stay, 4 days at the YC first and 4 days at the Poly...we wish we stayed at the YC...it was so quiet and peaceful, larger newer rooms with double sinks and a large shower, killer view of the gazebo (we watched a wedding) and a view of the water, great location and we had the quiet pool and spa to ourselves the entire time. BC was total chaos, very loud and a ton of kids there.

When we switched to the Poly it was noisy and busier than the BC was...the pool was crowded every day. We did enjoy our stay and having Kona and the monorail there are a huge plus but overall we enjoyed our stay at YC better

We did a split stay last year. First the Poly, then switching to the Beach Club. And honestly, everyone was wishing we would have stayed put at the Poly.

As much as we love Epcot, and as great as it is to be able to walk to the World Showcase, we would still rather be at a monorail resort. The bus rides from the Beach Club to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom were too long. At the Poly you could just hop on the monorail and be at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot in a jiffy.

We also didn't like that they close down Stormalong Bay at night. All the other resorts only close the pool slide, but with all of the different features of Stormalong Bay, they have to shut the whole thing down. You could still use the quiet pool, but they are very plain. You could be at a pool at any chain motel. At the Poly you could still look up and see the castle in the background.

If given a choice between the 2, I would pick the Poly hands down. Not that the Beach Club is a bad resort, we just liked the Poly much more.

LOVE Beach Club. It is awesome to walk into Epcot and boat to MGM, two parks! We love Poly too, but my main issue with it was you HAVE to take the monorail to Epcot. We found it takes just too long to get there. When we stayed there in July, we ended up taking a cab back instead, well worth the cost!

The pools are very different of course. Poly's is fine, but boring really. Beach Clubs is amazing!

The Poly does pipe the Wishes music in at night and you get a dead on view of the castle from the beach, so there is that as well.

Darn, I don't know which one I would pick myself, let alone can I give you advice.

You can't go wrong with Beach Club though, TRUST ME!

We did a split stay this past May, first at the BC and then at the Poly. It was our first time staying at the BC; our fourth at the Poly.

We *loved* the BC ... the decor was light and airy, Stormalong Bay was awesome, and we liked being able to walk into Epcot.

That being said, the Poly is "our" resort -- it just fits for our family. The rooms are bigger, the grounds are lusher, the restaurants are better for us (though we thought the Cape May character breakfast at the BC was great!), and there's the all-important MK factor! ;)

As far as transportation from the Poly, we usually drive to the other parks and DTD, so that's never been an issue for us.

Both resorts are definitely wonderful to stay at ... just depends on what suits your tastes more!

Let's see, you're asking for the differences between the 2 resorts, so here is my input:

Poly ~ direct monorail service to MK and Epcot, larger rooms, view of the Castle and Wishes from the beach and pool, a main building + separate buildings with rooms.

BC ~ walking/boating service to Epcot and MGM and Boardwalk, sandy-bottom pool great for toddlers, lots of restaurants within walking distance, watch Illuminations from any part of the BC/YC/Boardwalk loop, movies on the beach, enjoy the surrey bike rental path much better than at Poly.

If a room was unavailable at one of these resorts, then I wouldn't feel at all bad about staying at the other. They are our top 2 favorite resorts, but for totally different reasons, as you can see the differences from above. Good luck!

thanks for the input.

We have only stayed at POR in the past and are now financially ready for an upgrade. We have spent alot of time on the east coast and want a completely new experience. I think I will hold out for the Poly...either wait list it or opt for the concierge....it may be good anyway, we would only have to buy one main meal a day.

I have 5 and 8 year old girls......going to sleep with a view of Cinderella Castle would make their trip!

I'll wait and see what DU has to say....if they can truly make a dream come true.
