Beach Club VS Contemporary

So my family and I just finished our disney trip today and right now are literally driving back up to NJ. Since we just finished this trip we are now planning our next one of-course . We have stayed the BC twice before but haven't gone back in a few years and are thinking of returning for our 13th trip as a family. The only thing is that half my family wants to try something new and stay at the Contemporary in Bay Lake Tower villas. We stayed in BC villas before but never Bay Lake. I know they are two different hotels but what would you all recommend? Should I stay at the BC or Contemporary?

If the family is split down the middle over where to stay, I would do a split stay and make everyone happy.

Since you've never stayed at BLT, you might want to do a little research before you commit to staying there. The resort has both its advantages and drawbacks. It really is a matter of preference as to whether the advantages outweigh the drawbacks.

At beach club, I am able to get to to parks very easily. I love the boardwalk area. I would stay with BC and that awesome pool.

Stayed at both and yc/cr are my faves after the swan, but I give the edge to cr, as the modernist theme really appeals to me the most of all wdw resorts. Either way wil be great, but I haven't stayed at blt but dh isn't big on the idea of renting points, maybe I can talk him into it soon.

Either way, those are great resorts!

We stayed at BLT the first week of march an it was amazing. Yes, you could only walk to one resort, but the monorail to EPCOT was jut as accessible. We found being in the center of it all very appealing. I haven't stayed at BC, but I have stayed at the Dolphin multiple times. I do love that area and the ability to walk into World Showcase. It was just very magical to look out our window at BLT and see the resorts and parks. The pool was great, the kids loved it. I, for one, had no drawbacks at BLT.

I agree, my family would never stay at two hotels on one vacation. We are probably going to try the BC again. But thanks everyone for the feedback!

We prefer the Beach Club only because you do not feel like you ever leave the magic there with the Boarwalk, and Epcot being so close etc. you've been there so you know what I'm talking about. It doesn't feel the same at Bay Lake. Yes you see MK from your room, but you also see busses, traffic lights, etc.
The only thing is the nostalgia of the Contemporary. It has a sentimentality for us seasoned travelers. But that is it for us.

I personally like trying new things. I hear BLT is amazing. You have access to the monorail for MK/EPCOT and can also walk into MK. While the BC is my favorite resort I've stayed at - BLT is the next DVC i'm dying to try.
