We are wanting to stay in the beach club villas unless you have a better idea with a family of six where two are under teh age of 2.

How can I get the best rate for travel 3/1-3/7-03?

Does reservations have an 800 number?

Beach Club Villas is beautiful and has a great mini water park for the kids (young ones and older ones) but part of Stormalong Bay is being refurbished, so be sure to check that work will be completed by your vacation dates. If that doesn't work out, Old Key West's rooms are huge! We stay in the 2 bedroom and have more space than we ever need and there are 6 of us and usually an extra or two!

Go visit the Disney Vacation Club Board here and check out renting points from a DVC member. You can stay MUCH cheaper than if you rented direct through Disney (less than 1/2 price, probably).

Feel free to email me if you'd like more info.

Renting points are the way go. Could save you up to 40% off of Disney's rack rates. Check our Rental/Trade board, or check EBay for current listing.

Assuming your check-in date is 3/1, and check-out date is 3/7(that would be six nights accomodations), you'd need to rent 275 points. The point requirements are 75 pts/night on Fridays & Saturdays(3/1, your check-in day, is a Saturday), and 40 pts/night Sunday-Thursday. Since March is so close, I think that $7-$10/point(depending on the renters use year)would be a realistic starting point to calculate your cost. You'd be looking at $1925 on the low end for a 2Br for those nights, or slightly less or more depending on the deal you and the renter work out and how soon the points expire. What would happen is the renter, the person you're renting points from, would call Disney to see of the dates are available. Assuming they are, and you both agree on a price, you would then pay in full once the reservation is made in your name. You could request a confirmation from Disney at that point for your records...something in writing that you could bring with you at check-in(just for peace of mind). Typically the reservation cannot be cancelled at that point without you risking losing your $$, unless you work out some sort of agreement in advance.
I think 2Brs rent for somehwere around $500/night, so you can see that the savings are substantial. If you decide to go this route, make your post on the rental board ASAP. And don't forget to check EBay.

We rented a two bedroom last fall in BCV. We were able to pay $8 per point because the DVC owner had points about to expire in a few months that could not be carried over to the next year. There were six of us. Wonderful alternative for large families. Even if just the slide at SAB is closed, that leaves a lot of the rest of the pool for use. The younger children would probably want to stay in the children's area which is not near the slide.

Our five days were Sunday night thru a checkout Friday morning. If you don't spend a Friday or Saturday night, the expense of renting is considerably lower. We spent Saturday night in two rooms at All Stars that were running $49/night at the time (with a Texas discount code), then had them move our luggage to BCV Sunday morning.

PM me if you have any questions.
