First time at BCV in Feb. 08. On early open days at Epcot can we go in the "back way" to Epcot, even though the World Showcase doesn't open until later?

Yes, you can enter through the International Gateway (back door) to Epcot at the same time the main turnstiles open. There will be CM's there directing you toward Future World. The bridge to France will be roped off. You actually do wander the streets of the UK and Canada on your way to FW, even though WS is not yet open.

You can enter that way, but because of the long walk the lines are often already long at the attractions. If it was really important to me I would cab it over to the front early....

That's one of our favorite things to do. We love walking through the empty UK & Canada areas. It's a great time for pictures and very peaceful.

But then you miss out on an experience just because you want to go first. I guess I am not that impatient, I would take the Gateway.

We stayed at BCV in August (a very busy time) and really enjoyed the ability to walk. We were at International Gateway before rope drop and as soon as they let us in we made a beeline for Soarin' and had little or no wait. Grabbed a fastpass on the way out and road it again a little later. There were very few people who were at IG at that time so it was much less congested than going in the main gate.

Enjoy your stay at BCV. We loved the convenience of the location and the pool is amazing. We're trying AKL this trip just because we wanted to stay somewhere entirely different. Otherwise, we would be back at BC.
