Hey All!

Thinking about staying at Beach Club Villas this September when we go although I don't know about my DS6 and the water slides. He LOVES water slides..we can't get him off the water slide at BLT. However he's not proficient enough in swimming yet to swim without his swim life jacket. So, im assuming he can't go on the big waterslide at stormalong bay then can he? Is there any other slides there? I know there's a kiddy slide that likes 3ft long..don't think he'll enjoy that much...hah.

Thanks!

That is the only waterslide, aside from the kiddie on you already mentioned. But from what I understand he can still go on the slide with a life jacket, they are even there to rent for free.

My grandchildren, were that age when they did the big slide at BCV; however, I am sure they wore their life jackets. The big concern is the "walk" the children have to take out of the slide landing area across the sidewalk to get to the steps to the slide.

They love SAB, but it is nerve-wrecking to try to keep up with 3 small children, as it is a huge area with lots of "hiding" places.

My 4.5 year old daughter went on the big slide, and we caught her at the bottom. No problem. My husband went down before her, and I went down after. The "kiddie" slide is at least 8-10 feet long and quite fun as well.

enjoy :wizard:

Then ya, there's the kiddie slide !

I don't think they let you catch kids at the bottom of the slide at SAB. You have to stay clear of the area and they have to be able to get away from the bottom of the slide by themselves. It's too dangerous to let people hang around the bottom of the slide when the top is so far away.

I have to agree with Deb as we were told we couldn't wait for DGD at end of slide and i don't remember seeing any come down with life jackets on. This was the first week of Dec 2011.

We have been going to the Beach Club regularly for the last 8 years. My kids have worn life jackets many, many times on the slides at SAB.

Parents can't prop themselves right on top of the slide exit however. You must wait back several feet by the lifeguard chair or better yet wait just on the other side of the rope. Some people, especially adults, who are coming off the slide and know what they are doing can gain a lot of distance and speed and splash. You would not want to be anywhere near that which is why lifeguards won't let you get that close (picture the office linebacker commercials!).

No worries though. In his lifevest, DS6 won't have any problems hitting the water and finding you immediately when he comes up. He can swim the small distance to the steps or you and do it all over again. If he loves slides which it sounds like he does, he will LOVE the flying jib!!

However, like PP pointed out, it can be challenging to track him along the path from slide exit to slide entrance especially if you have other kiddos you are also watching so be aware of that.

Have a great trip!
