Hi everyone! We are going to be staying at the Beach Club Villas this December- and looking forward to it very much! We actually are not DVC members anymore (very long story) but we traded in on RCI program.
We have never stayed DVC as non members before-what should we know?
We usually stayed at OKW in years past, and loved it- we are staying in a studio- any advice for more/less desirable rooms, etc?
I don;t know how this resort is laid out,are upper or lower floors preferred? as to noise, etc. Are there any views,or views we want to avoid?
(at OKW,we always liked upper floor, more privacy and no overhead noise)
TIA

Others will disagree, but I don't like the view which overlooks a road (Oh, I use to know the name of the road...darn). I think it's also the same view that give you Illuminations at night so many don't mind this view. But for my taste, as someone who spends time on the balcony each day, I would avoid the view of the road. I'm sure I can look back through past posts and find the name of road if needed. :3dglasses

No disagreement here! I absolutely would HATE a room overlooking that road! We always request a view of the quiet pool. We have gotten it everytime (at least 8 stays). The only times we didn't make a request was when we were only staying for single nights (before and after cruises) and we had a lovely courtyard view on the backside where we could see Epcot both.

I LOVE to sit on my balcony and enjoy the outside while I read or enjoy a drink, so the road noise is definately not an option for me!

We stayed at BCV in May and absolutely loved it! SAB and quick access to the International Gateway can't be beat.

While I agree the "road" view wouldn't be so great, we had a view overlooking the quiet pool and I wasn't so crazy about that b/c I found that when SAB closed at 10pm, everyone came over to the quiet pool! So it can be noisy trying to get to sleep. I did have to wear my earplugs to get to sleep, but I am a very light sleeper. My husband could hear the noise as well but he can sleep through take off and landing on an airplane ;).

Have a great trip :wizard:

Here are a few room numbers to put on your request:
Woods view studios 222, 227, 322, 327, 422, 427 & 527
Pool view studios 206, 260, 312, 314, 316, 360, 412, 414, 416, 460, 516, 560
If you don't mind having a Handicap room 228, 328, 428, 528 are good rooms. 228 has the largest balcony at the resort. I have stayed in it a couple of times and would take any time I could get it.
The pool views are a bit noisier especially if you like to keep the balcony door open. 228 is right above the entrance from the pool so there is a lot of traffic.
There is usually people in the pool and spa till the wee hours of the morning, maybe not in Dec though.

Enjoy your stay there, it's my favorite place to be.

We stayed in a studio in May, room 560 and we LOVED it. I requested a larger balcony on a higher floor and got both. 560 had a HUGE balcony overlooking the quiet pool! It was awesome sitting out there after the kids went to bed with a beer. WE couldn't see Illuminations but we liked looking at the pool, although everytime DD saw it she wanted to SWIM!

hmmm...the rooms have different sized balconies? how many quiet pools does does BCV have?
and the road,is that a main road with lots of traffic?
higher floors are preferable to lower floors?
any map links anywhere? thanks!

I would never ask for a certain room, more than likely you wont get it and then they have not idea of what you would like

Make it general, Pool view, woods view, low or high floor.

No view at BCV is fantastic, it was built in the Beach Club resort parking lot.

The main thing with the road is it is the bus route to the 4 resorts on it so it does get a good bit of traffic.

Yes there are many different size balconies.

There is only one quiet pool.

It is EPCOT Resort Blvd I wouldn't call it a main road, but it does have some traffic. It's a loop that goes from Buena Vista Drive at the Hess Sta. to Buena Vista Drive at Fantasia Garden Mini Golf. It has the entrances for the Beach Club, Yacht Club and the Swan and Dolphin.

I prefer upper floors to ground level.

Try Google Maps or Bing Maps.

Avoid rooms 140, 240, 340, 440 - they are on the inside corner of the L shape and look directly onto other balconies (and visa versa)- to the point that you have to keep your curtains closed for any privacy.

Wow! We've never had noise from the pool area! There have hardly ever been people in it all of the times we've stayed there. We've usually been on the 4th or 5th floors though, so maybe that makes a difference in the noise level. Although, there were never more than a handful of people in the pool at any given time (the most crowded was early afternoon after people returned from the parks).

Good point - we were on the 2nd floor - but it was crowded in May when we went...
